This is a results based business. What they did in the past is irrelevant, they know well enough that they should have acted faster.Instead their worried about paying Ciro compensation & having to pay top money for a quality coach.Infact it's really dumb bringing in a caretaker coach & paying him big bucks for less than 6 months work.
Exactly!!!!

I have to agree and disagree there.. IF we can get someone in who can guarantee us a top 4 finish then it is well worth it... If not then obviously no... obviously no one can guarantee us a top 4 finish but we can get closest with someone with experience, determination and great motivation ( big money +bonuses, Guus? ) but then again no one is a mind reader and no one can predict anything so basically we just have to hope for the best..

If we are going to get a new coach only in the summer, why not just keep ciro until we can really negotiate with the likes of Gasperini, Prandelli, Guus, etc etc? Why should we rush, besides our season is basically over anyways? If a new coach comes there is no guarantee that we will secure CL spot, right?

That's it. We are essentially trading one risk for another. Unless we get a WC coach immediately I say thanks but no thanks I will wait till summer where we can have a better chance of getting a coach that will take us up a few notches.

yes, there's no guarantee that the addition of a new HC will secure a CL spot but it could improve our chances.

right now we sit in 6th place - 4pts behind 4th place Napoli and 1pt behind 5th place Palermo.

the remainder of the season is still long

I still think its a huge gamble. Tough decision right now, that's for sure.

I kind of agree, but there is also a matter of player motivation. They have to believe in the progress, coach and management. Otherwise they are gonna be out of here. A club needs its key players. Ours are Buffon and Chiellini bc we need them for years to come. My fear is, they might call it quits if things are run they way it appears to be right now. The first layer is just to start winning, get some fresh air by a new coach, but the seoncd layer is the rings that is going to spread in the water.

Don't you think any world class player is gonna think twice, if we do not get out of this with our head up high? Just take Liverpool, when Barry turned them down for city Alonso realised they could not attract big names and chose to leave. And This was after a league run were they close to grabbing it, many ppl thought this year was gonna be their year.

Our situation is even worse, bc we need a lot of transfers the next years. Camo,Treze,DP,Canna, Leggro are short term bc of age. Grygere, grosso because of skills. We need to compete for players whose alternae choice is Arsenal, Barca, Bayern, City etc... This choice should not be easy for them because things are being run like a circus here. I think my line of thougt strayed a bit there. But I mean to say ,that this is more important than just the immediate turnaround, even though a cl spot is the most important prerequisite for signing players.

Look, unless we can sign a coach for long term now, what is the point in bring some guy that is just a name to fill the post temporarily? I mean if you are the players, how motivated are you to have a coach to finish the season with that you know won't be there long knowing that the club will try and bring in another coach this summer?

Everybody praised the board after the summer we just had. They did everything right in the summer, money wise anyway.
No sir not everyone, from day one 3 years ago i've said that those retards are doing a horrible job in the club.

I don't even care about the recent results but there were more than enough signs atleast to me that they're screwing up big time yet no one (our owners spec.) are doing anything about it. Things had to get extremely bad for the owners to notice anything (and still they're not doing anything)....

IMO we need a replacement for Ciro asap even if its a short term one, if we waant to qualify for Europe(not necessarily CL) next season. But the replacing him with another noob is not the way. I wouldnt mind even if its Zaccheroni as i beleive a coach with some experience can help us finish in the top 4. With Ciro i see the club falling into bigger depths and possibly something like a 9th or 10th place finish. And lets pray the board does find a WC coach by next season

Because the board should say: We cannot continue like this. We need new blood and experience. We have got this guy , he is gonna get CL qualification and then they are going to state that after that, we are gonna bring in 50M€ transfer budget and Lippi, Benitez, GUUS, Gasperini or whoever is a big name, that players have immediate confidence in. They have to say things did not work out as planned. Now we're erasing the dirt. Forget about the past. We have got a plan. Don't worry, we have got this shit by the balls.

What happens if we bring in a new coach and our injury crisis gets worse? OR what happens if we start getting all of our players back and healthy and ciro actually has a selection to make?

With a full squad perhaps. But I feel more confident in that than I do if a new coach comes and our injury situation lingers or gets worse. That's my honest opinion. Even our backups are getting injured :sergio:
