ESPN press stated that the only reason Ciro is still coach is beacuse we cant get a replacement and talks with Hiddink have stalled. This is bullshit the old Juve would have had everyone running to Turin to coach us!

Don't they usually replace the coach with his assistant for a few days? I don't even think its a big loss going from Ciro to some assistant until they find a replacement.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Juventus are struggling to find an adequate replacement for the ailing Ciro Ferrara.

The club's patron, John Elkann, is said to have asked Juventus President Jean-Claude Blanc to fire Ferrara following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Roma.

However, Blanc is apparently reluctant to do so for moral and political reasons, but also because the Bianconeri can't find a successor capable of guaranteeing a return to winning ways.

Guus Hiddink remains the No 1 target, but the sensation is that he would cost too much to lure away from Russia.

Dino Zoff, the club's legendary former goalkeeper, has said that he isn't really interested in taking over the reins again.

Other names on the shortlist like those of Michael Laudrup and Alberto Zaccheroni are viewed as being a tad too risky, leaving Blanc with the option of hiring someone with sentimental ties to Juventus.

Gianluca Vialli fits the criteria, but his friendship with Ferrara is said to be a stumbling block.

Last but not least is Massimo Carrera, the 45-year-old former defender who is currently in charge of the Juventus academy.

However, the last time they tried promoting internally they ended up with Ferrara, making Carrera's candidacy a last resort.

I remember before we gave Ciro the job, we had so many potential coaches like Spaletti, Mancini and Prandelli. Now, we have shit.

Hiddink too expensive?? Paid the fu***** price. What? he is €1-3M more expensive that some average joe dickhead... With CL hanging and a Euroleague to go far in.. he has more than enough possibilities to earn his salary.

I am assuming they are waiting until the win column equals the loss one; moreover, I think the "project" involves us losing at least once to each team in the division over the course of a full season, something which we are very capable of accomplishing, and only need 11 more losses to achieve (against the teams we didn't lose to in the first phase).

Seriously, the problem is more than just Ferrara. This board is a joke; they are a bunch of incompetents, and no one in their right mind would want to work for them. You have a tennis aficionado, and a former ball boy running an elite football team. They have no idea what they are doing, nor what they want. The "project" is just a camouflage, a cover-up to buy them some time, until they can figure something out, or sneak out the back door.

Elkann should pull the plug on them, not ask them to sack Ferrara and find a replacement.
