Ranieri actually had players to fit his tactical system. Ferrara does not. Not only that, but I would take Zanetti and Nedved over Melo and Diego right now. I'm not saying Melo and Diego are bad players...but they are playing badly right now. So Ranieri actually had a stronger team last year that actual suit his tactical formation. This year, Ferrara has had to deal with an even bigger injury crisis as well as the new signings struggling to fit in.

Not a better manager but the more "experienced" one. We've used a really defensive traditional 4-4-2 system with Ranieri on charge that covered all our defensive faults and errors.

Ranieri is experienced enough to know that our defence was piss poor and that he had to rely on our midfielders + wingers to protect that defence and it worked to some extend. We didn't play a good all around football under him but we've secured our defences pretty well.

But on the other side of the argument, we didn't create much chances. With ranieri around it is guranteed that we wont go forward with that team we will always be one step behind the leading teams (or winners). So to me, ranieri staying would have not been a smart thing to do.

We should've gotten someone who is a proven winner. Hiring Ferrara was a huge risk that our management took and it was not a smart move.

Is it Ciro's fault that the management didn't provide him the right players that we needed? Not only that, but Melo and Diego played like absolute crap lately. And Buffon, Chiellini, Camo, Sissoko and Iaquinta are all injured. And many others have just recently come back from injury and are not in form yet. Do you really think bringing a new coach is going to all of a sudden fix those problems. How would a new coach transform Melo into a regista and turn Amauri into a goal machine lol? Ciro doesn't have all the necessary tools, and that's the managements fault more than anyone else.

Diego was an amazing signing, not one person on this forum didn't want diego in this team, you included. So saying he was a bad decision is pathetic and your just looking for excuses. The same for Melo, we were all delighted to welcome him. Its typical of juventus fans to completely turn on new signing after 5 or 6 poor performances. Melo and Diego were the right signings, PERIOD.

Yes we could have done with different defensive reinforcements, but if Ciro felt this way then he should have been the one to step up to the plate and ensure the team was built around him. You wouldn't see Hiddink being told who he is going to be signing this summer

And dont feed me that crap about injuries, please, have you even followed Juventus over the last 5 years? I cant remember a month when we haven't been decimated by injuries let alone a season. Injuries happen, you have to deal with them. Ranieri had much worse injury crisis' as pointed out in the above posts. Look at Man U, their whole defence is injured and look how little its effecting them, and that is a much worse crisis than ours.

To answer your question though. Yes, a new coach would get the best out of these players and find a systems for them.

And for the last time Melo isn't a 'regista' and he wont be turned into one, a decent coach would know that and play to his strenghts, it took Prandelli pointing it out to Ferrara to get him to notice that, dont fall into the same trap...

Yeah I know mate, but that would basically pan out as a 4-2-3-1, which would be fine with me, seeing how we did with that earlier in the season. Well Brazzo and DC can run, but they aren't the type of players to link up with someone like Diego, that's certainly true.

There is no end to the Ciro nightmare. This is a more defensive 4-2-3-1 with Brazzo and De Ceglie on the flanks. If this is true then my god Ciro is awful.

Its starts of with 4-3-3 being the most offensive one, then 4-2-3-1 is a bit more defensive and 4-4-1-1 is the most defensive one and obviously our mega coach picks the 4-4-1-1.
