How the hell did he not get provided with the right players??

Diego was an amazing signing, not one person on this forum didn't want diego in this team, you included. So saying he was a bad decision is pathetic and your just looking for excuses. The same for Melo, we were all delighted to welcome him. Its typical of juventus fans to completely turn on new signing after 5 or 6 poor performances. Melo and Diego were the right signings, PERIOD.

Yes we could have done with different defensive reinforcements, but if Ciro felt this way then he should have been the one to step up to the plate and ensure the team was built around him. You wouldn't see Hiddink being told who he is going to be signing this summer :sergio:

And dont feed me that crap about injuries, please, have you even followed Juventus over the last 5 years? I cant remember a month when we haven't been decimated by injuries let alone a season. Injuries happen, you have to deal with them. Ranieri had much worse injury crisis' as pointed out in the above posts. Look at Man U, their whole defence is injured and look how little its effecting them, and that is a much worse crisis than ours.

To answer your question though. Yes, a new coach would get the best out of these players and find a systems for them.

And for the last time Melo isn't a 'regista' and he wont be turned into one, a decent coach would know that and play to his strenghts, it took Prandelli pointing it out to Ferrara to get him to notice that, dont fall into the same trap...
First of all, I didn't say Diego wasn't needed.

Melo was not Ferrara's choice. If it was up to him we would have signed D'Agostino (and for less money than we paid Melo). I'm not saying that's the sole reason Juve aren't performing well, but it's a big one. Ferrara has no choice but to play Melo in that position in the team. Melo would do better if paired up with another DM, but we have to play the 4-3-1-2 because it suits Diego.

And I'm not saying Ferrara is blameless, but I can't stand it when people crucify the guy and don't realize what the real problems are. People think bringing a new coach is going to fix all Juve's problems when all it will be doing is putting a band-aid over it and ignoring them.

excuse my ignorance but can you translate the term regista because i dunno what that is?
A regista is basically a creative mid who distributes the ball. Like a pirlo, xavi, xabi alonso type player

we dont hve 2 play the 4312 at all. We can play a number of formations, if diego has to adapt then thats fine. He could act as an advanced playmaker with melo and sissoko next to him, camo and gio supporting trez. But ciro hasnt even thought of this...

we need defenders for that, everyone here is spunking their pants over AMCs.
we need full backs first then cb's then a box-to-box midfielder....then we will need to replace our ageing frontline...basically every position except in goal needs reinforced and we desperately need to offload some defensive midfielders

Sissoko, Marchisio and Melo. Hardly need box to box midfielders.

If we are continuing with the 4-3-1-2 than we need a deep lying playmaker not a DM. We need a CM who can play the ball around the pitch so Diego doesn't have to drop back and we don't need to rely on Melo for distribution from the center.

so basically we need to change the system to fit our personnel or continue with square pegs and round holes
