Ferrara's hopes for 2010
Thursday 31 December, 2009
Ciro Ferrara was even jeered by Juventus fans in Saudi Arabia and hopes for a “turning point in 2010.”
The Coach had a less than warm welcome in Jeddah when his team played out a 2-2 friendly draw with Al-Ittihad on Wednesday.
Supporters in the stands cheered for potential replacement Guus Hiddink and chanted 'Ferrara out!’
“You couldn’t tell much from this game due to the extreme heat and the many substitutions,” insisted Ferrara.
“This fixture was of use to get some match fitness in the old legs. Some had cramp, but that was above all caused by the long warm-up and the heat.”
The Bianconeri have dropped to third place in Serie A and were knocked out of the Champions League, ending 2009 on a low.
“Now we must focus on the New Year. We must dive into 2010 straight away with the right attitude and the desire to get back on our feet, so we can give the fans the joy they deserve.
“This year will be a turning point for Juventus.”
