I think that Ferrara wont mind to stick around if we bring a better coach.
A real coach, someone who might actually learn smth.
I understand why our decision to replace him Conte would upset him and he may choose to leave permanently...

Not too reassuring IMO...

Ferrara: It's me or Conte
Thursday 28 May, 2009

“I couldn’t tell you what my chances are of remaining the Juve Coach, but in reading the newspapers as far as I can tell it’s a battle between me and Conte,”
Wow, I wouldn't even think that the current coach, an insider, has the same source of information as we all here. Or even not as reliable as Mark has :D

“For the moment we are leaning towards young Coaches, unless of course something remarkable emerges next week.”
No, no, noo... don't give me Scolari

Scolari ain't half bad. He's kind of a Brazilian Capello. Unspired wins when you're supposed to win, and no creativity to address the possibility of exceeding expectations.

But this is Juve Country here. Ferrara, maybe Conte, or possibly the wild cards of Spaletti or Prandelli work for me.

Who do you think will do a better job who do you rate higher Conte or Ferrara?
Conte has more demonstrated experience with adult teams, but let's face it -- he's never coached in a top league. Ferrara has won youth championships and assisted in a WC-winning side. So it's hard to say.

I think both would garner the respect of the players. The question I have is how well either would fare in choosing starting lineups, tactics, and subs. I don't have enough info to say.

And how can you rate Ferrara as a coach? You've seen him lead a team on 1 single match.

How would you rate Conte as a coach? How many times did you watch matches where he was a coach?

Conte can be at least rated by the results of his clubs. For Ferrara even that is impossible.

I believe no-one here can tell you who is the better coach of the two.

One very important criterion for me is who is more impartial to the former teammates like Alex, Nedved (if he continues), Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Cannavaro. It´s absolutely necessary that the new coach only decides by effort. I´m certain both of them are professionals, but i doubt that there will be only impartial decisions.

I think the main issue now is that Ferrara is the current coach he is probably favorite for the position because it would look like a snub if they appoint COnte who is similarly inexperienced. I think they will continue with Ciro and this way we can appoint Conte somewhere down the road. Who knows if they dont give Ciro the job now he might not want the job later.

Another problem though is we do appoint one of these guys and they dont perform... do we fire them? After all they have done for Juve? It is much easier to fire just any coach but not an ex-player. So the fact they have such little experience is worrying.

Hire Conte and make Ferrara his assistant.
Hire Conte and make Ferrara his/our President :D

+REP for pointing that out :) Do you think Del Piero would throw a bottle or a shirt towards Ciro when being substituted for Giovinco? :)

this is a very delicate situation
- we continue with Ferrara if he fails and we hire someone else but he would be lost possibly forever for Juve
- we hire Conte and demote Ferrara then he would be very dissapointed
maybe it would be better to hire a non-Juve player
-we hire someone else probably at a higher price

Conte or Ferrara.. I undecided about this option for now.

I believe Conte because he has experience at least to lead one club in one season and become a champions in his league although it was in Serie B

I believe Ferrara because he has experience as Lippi assistant in a big major club like WC, also he is one of our coach in youth sector.. and look from how brilliant our primavera for 2 years, he can become like Pep. Even Pep never take charges as a coach in another club before take Barcelona. We have lot of young talents now in Daud, Immobile, Marrone, Iago, Ariaudo, Gio, DC, Marchisio and Ferrara can integrate them to our senior team like Pep integrate Pique, Busquet even Iniesta, Messi with senior players
