Ferrara pledges more transfers Saturday 4 July, 2009
Ciro Ferrara tells fans that Juventus have not finished their transfer campaign yet. “We will definitely be making some more changes.”
The Bianconeri have already swooped for Werder Bremen’s Brazilian star Diego, but are in negotiations for Udinese midfielder Gaetano D’Agostino and Lyon left-back Fabio Grosso.
“We will definitely be making some more changes and moving on the transfer market,” said the Coach.
Ferrara replaced Claudio Ranieri for the final two rounds of the campaign, securing second place ahead of Milan and qualification for the Champions League.
“We are eager to start again and I am ready for this new adventure. The last two weeks of the season helped me settle in. It’s a job that makes you feel younger and it’s very exhilarating.”
This will be the former defender’s first complete season as a tactician, so he was asked about his plans for the new team, especially with Diego adopting a trequartista role.
“We will play with a four-man defence and then the rest remains to be seen,” he shrugged. “I don’t believe the system is the most important thing.”
