I'm not judging by current but their skills - Poulsen hasn't got any I'm afraid. There's nothing extra he do. Sissoko can be great with a good coach and he did show that for some period, I don't know exactly when it was but he did show it and he can still be useful under the right guidance. Melo has potential as well, we used in differently and everybody said so, he's always great for Brazil and he was very good for Viola.
For all that time Poulsen was only average, as he did nothing. He offered decent passes, tackles...some poor shots. His job can do a 3mln euros worth players who earns 1mln/season. Ekdal would be more useful for us than him.
Poulsen has great positional sense and is very good at reading the game.

None of the other Juve midfielders have those abilities.

Have you bought any Juve merchandise in the last couple of years?
I could lie and say that i have collection of Juve kits and scarfs but no. I can't pay 70 euros for a wear. All i have about Juve is an unlicensed shirt and 10 years old hat which i can't use anymore because it looks like an old artifact but still keeping it. Does it make me unable to questioning Poulsen's wages?

I'm just disappointed you haven't been contributing to Poulsen's wages.

Not necessarily the fact that we still have to pay some installments (heck, we may even need to pay 1 more installment of Poulsen's transfer fee, not quite sure).

But when I talk about the cost of a player, I always look at the complete picture: salary + signing cost (+ any other variable costs that may occur in special occasions).

So while Melo's salary may be significantly lower (pretty likely that it's too high as well), right now the overall cost of him is significantly higher than that of Poulsen.
Thanks for the clarification ;)

I really like Poulsen; he is very underrated around these parts. However, if I had to choose between him and Melo, I would definitely keep Melo. The guy is young and has a lot of potential, whereas Poulsen is hardly likely to improve and is winding down his career.

I don't know why people question our players wages. This reminds me when people started bragging about Del Piero's wages few years ago.

Since you or I don't pay their wages then why should it bother us.

Hello Buck nice to see you, where you been?

And nope, ignore the Melo of Juventus and watch the Melo for Brazil,Fiorentina and Almeria and you'll see he reads the game well.

Finally someone who agrees with me, I only see people complaining about how much Poulsen makes and how much Chiellini makes.

And two more things:

FORZA POULSEN

and

Diego should stay

Oh Poulsen does read the game pretty good. The thing is that he never do anything after that.
You really like Poulsen, don't you. I should get you a shirt with his name on the back :D

I've been around.

And believe me, I have tried my best to ignore the Melo of Juventus. No success so far :D

Seriously though, I don't have a clue how he did at Almeria & I don't watch every Brazil game either so I'm definitely not someone who knows everything about Melo.
What I do know is that he had an at best decent season at Fiorentina (not bad but way too inconsistent) & a terrible one at Juve.

And as far as reading the game, imo he's under par. His decision making is atrocious at times & he lacks a certian intelligence in terms of covering the right spaces / making the right runs.

Look, I am not saying that Melo has to go, like every player he deserves a 2nd chance / season.
I don't even think we need to change the CM department right now (more pressing matters).

What does annoy me is that quite a lot of people continously bash Poulsen (for whatever reason), while they're protecting Melo at the same time. I do not like double standards.
