I've seen this (key word, even though I still agree with Jack) so many times. He failed to impress but board decided to keep him and stats that he should prove the club wrong and that he's a good player. I just see it as an extra motivation for player. He also said “They are counting on me and I want to prove what I’m really worth.”

I don't see what's the fuss all about.

Similar thing was with Tiago. We were about to sell him, loan out, sell again but he's still here. Ciro himself said he's going to surprise everyone which can be the same thing. Just a motivation, on a different level, though.
Maybe I'm overreacting ( I had a bad at work ) but to me what Blanc is doing here is covering the boards ass. I think they want him the fuck out and don’t believe in him. Lets say Poulsen fails to succeed, then Blanc can say - I told you so last year. I he succeeds then he can say - My motivation speak worked.
Well I just think that they should show some support and maybe have said that they know Poulsen is a good player, that they believe in him and that’s why they bought him last year. They reason they wanted to sell him earlier this season was because Zanetti covered that role and they had to many players in that position and needed to cut the wage bill, but now that he's gone they have the situation changed and they believe that Poulsen will be very valuable to Juve this season and bla bla..

Poulsen was little scared to tackle last season as he didnt even make as much fouls as marchisio for example.

so all i want to see the aggressive and dirty poulsen back and its the way to get the best out of him because hes known to be solid and aggressive midfielder.

I think Poulsen had a pretty decent first half and then lost himself in the second, this shows that he is a player that you bring in the second half to close the game.

Thank God we will have Melo next game

Good first, went to shit in the second! He was most culpable for a dismal midfield display after half time.
What a fall he took :D

he played well in first half :)
Like the rest of the team. This man is a true fighter and will win everyone over.

And as mentioned by Suns above, he covered for a lot of bad marking by the CBs.

I think he was good. He is really good at helping the CB's and plays sometimes as a 3rd cb.
I saw him covering at RB for a good 2-3 mins when Chievo was applying pressure, I was thinking where the heck was Grygera ...

In the 2nd half, the whole midfield looked tired and lost their shape ...

Nonetheless I hope his first half is an indication of good things ahead especially Melo is certain to have his fair share of suspension being the tougher tackler that he is. And Poulsen has the attributes among all our CMs to fill Melo's role if need be ...
