Money they may get, but it's not like they can use it all on transfers anyway, and even if they get new players, it'll be anything but easy to rebuild a squad when Samuel, Emerson, Zebina and Chivu are gone.

It's funny how everyone mentions Zebina now :D

I don't think they'll find rebuilding the squad too hard as long as they keep Totti. Mexes and Ferrari will be more than suitable replacements for Samuel and Zebina, and if Chivu does indeed depart they already have Dellas on board. Emerson? Dacourt and De Rossi will do fine.

Could this delay or otherwise affect his potential transfer?

Chivu suffers foot fracture
Tuesday 6 July, 2004

Cristian Chivu will be out of action for several weeks after x-rays showed a fractured metatarsal in his right foot.

The Romanian defender has impressed in his first season in Serie A and picked up the injury two weeks ago during a game of beach football.

The extent of the problem only became clear after he underwent tests at the Roma camp and doctors found the fracture of the fifth metatarsal.

Chivu’s right foot is now in plaster until July 23, but the medical staff assures he will be able to attend the pre-season training camp at Irdning in Austria from July 15 to 23.

The centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus over the last few days and Roma’s financial worries could force a sale.

roma are in the process of replacing samuel,i don't think it'ws very realistic of them to sell chivu unless ferrari and mexes are done deals already.

16m Euro for chivu?
no way,better bye canna.
anyways althout he is a great player,
as many other romanian players,
believe that they are o former roman colony
and they admire rome so much
that they could do everything to go and live there,
to become member of the roma legion was always a dream for chivu and thats why he was so well motivate
and declared he would like to be roma player for ever.
and now his"accidentation":D
i find more realistic that panucci will come, but we could:

panucci thuram chivu zambro

not bad at all and let roma train for us mexes and ferrari,
who is really good, may come next year;-)
so we also help roma to overcome a dif financial period
and this way they will not owe, only to berlusconi
and might also give us some points

i dont really see the point when mexes and ferrari could be had for the same money to get chivu.
