First of all I blame Conte for choosing wrong formation. 3-5-2 doesn't work in Europe because we play too slow with it, we don't use whole pitch but just try to go through the middle with wooden Matri and outmuscled Giovinco in the attack. Changes were made too late as for me.

As for me we don't really deserve to go through this group as for now. We lack clinical striker, we all know that. Now we have to do the maths to qualify which shouldn't really happen for a club like Juventus. It's not like we're in a group of death anyway.

I dont blame the 3-5-2. I dont like it generaly, but it works for us. We can pass the ball quite well, we have some nice players in the flanks to play the whole pitch in the line , and it suits us to a certain level, I'm ok with it and Conte is doing a really good job with that formation.
I just dont see it's use tonight.

I think that the form of Asamoah as LWB and Pepe's injury are the main reasons why we are stick wit 3-5-2. Its been a while like this (Asa's form and Pepe's injury) and we had good results with it, so maybe Conte is affraid to change it to 4-3-3. Now when Pepe is back, im really curious to see if he will change it up a little.

the 3-5-2 isn't that effective when your wing backs don't do what they are there to do, i.e. put in good crosses and give the central midfielders options when the middle of the pitch gets congested. PDC was terrible and Isla is still rusty after being out for so long.

Bendtner deserves a start against Catania.

Exactly. It's not because our flanks didn't play good enough tonight, it's simply because they're not the right players to break down a defense of great great class. Both Isla and PDC are excellent crossers and plays with great stamina and determination but in one on ones they're not capable of breaking through. I believe a change in tactics should do the job and then for us to take more chances and play wider.

I attended this game and I was surprised by how many times Isla was completely unmarked - not even Pirlo saw him out there and believe me - if Isla was given the chance and told to do so he could have taken on the keeper several times in this game!

Vucinic was great, 20 min cameo. Better link up play, better movement, better finishing. That's a great performance. Bothing every chance you get for 90min is not a great performance, it's the opposite.
