First of all I blame Conte for choosing wrong formation. 3-5-2 doesn't work in Europe because we play too slow with it, we don't use whole pitch but just try to go through the middle with wooden Matri and outmuscled Giovinco in the attack. Classy teams use the whole width of the pitch. Another reason is that we don't have good enough wingers who can win 1vs1 which is vital in this system.
I'll say it 3rd time already: 4-3-3 in CL matches is the way to go. This way we're more balanced, we can put pressing higher on opponents and we can make use of wings. Also playing Giovinco in 3-5-2 is a bad idea. He's more of a winger with his strengths and weaknesses. Matri is useless in games that we don't dominate. We dominate Serie A with 3-5-2 but I guess 4-3-3 would do for us too. In Europe it makes huge difference.
Changes were made too late as for me.
As for me we don't really deserve to go through this group as for now. We lack clinical striker, we all know that. Now we have to do the maths to qualify which shouldn't really happen for a club like Juventus. It's not like we're in a group of death anyway.
Last season one of our strengths was using different formations and I don't understand why we don't use it anymore.
