Strange that people admit it ONLY tonight which looks somewhat sentimental to my eyes.
Capello's team was one of the strongest we'd had in years yet I'd never seen such spirit and guts this Juve show in prestigious matches. I won't say it's Ranieri's effect though cos it's not. It all is the effect of Calciopoli. Old guard players are playing for their pride and honor, the rest -who in pre-Calciopoli days would have never imagined the day they'd play for Juve- are playing to prove themselves. Old guard players have passed their primes and the rest are not quality enough so the heart and the bravery they keep putting in big matches won't enough every time. Still THIS Juve is what I love the most. If I had the choice, I'd take this Juve over the pre-Calciopoli one without thinking twice.
i agree. ranieri has had a role to play though, dont doubt it. i know its popular to hate on him in this forum, but whatever.
but ive said it before about this being better than capellos - i thought with the squad we had then we shouldve done much better, and we went out in 2 consecutive years in the same exact scenario. when it came to knockout competition capello didnt know what to do and just hoofed it up to zlatan. i will never forget how we went out with a whimper against arsenal and liverpool.
plus (i know this is getting off the subject), but i didnt like the character of our team then - vieira and emerson in the middle...zlatan up front (first season he was amazing, second he was woeful, far too arrogant and not juve attitude)
the future is bright
