Yeah, ESPNFC are the same. It's amazing how clueless some people are about non-EPL football.

They have no clue how to analyse a game. It's all just fucking vibes.

As for Manchester City, have we ever seen a team drop off this fast? On 11 June 2023 they won a treble in Istanbul... missing Rodri cannot be the reason why they looked so toothless in attack. Have they already been notified about the 115 charges? You'd think in this day and age something would be leaked by now.
Similar position as us where most of the team has been injured.
If Rodri is the best player in the world is a topic for everyone else, but missing the core player along with KDB for large spells would hurt any team.
Finally, I wonder if the lack of vacation may create some psychological problems. You need the break to recover both mentally and physically. Maybe the short vacation wasn't enough to rekindle that hunger and fire. Yesterday it was quite evident that they are just passing through games. They press high but they don't fight for the ball. Similar to what has annoyed me about us for several years is that when we press we run towards the one in possession and then we have stand off and wait for them to do something. We don't really try to recover the ball. Koop's energy is vital here, he is the one really digging in. Yesterday there were several times where one of our defenders were isolated against 3-4 or even five opponents but they didn't do anything. Ran up close to him and just looked and cut off angles, no one went after him. Thuram even squeezed through a few times because no one really battled for it. So they are just passing through, they are not fully engaged.

Another good thing about all this it’s that we will be once again recognized by the premfaces and their pundits as a very tough team to play against, maybe even get some hype going around some of our promising players because convincing wins like this can put us back on the map, now only if we just manage to string a few more performances like this we might really be on the right track.

It absolutely is, after the game ends the away sectors are almost always asked to wait at least 15mins more before they can exit the stadium.
That TNT Sports 2 UK stream I watched last night was hilarious. The two Brit announcers were commenting on Juventus’ defense like they had never witnessed a coordinated team defense before. The EPL has rotted their brains.

I felt like I was witnessing Margaret Mead visiting grass-skirt-wearing Samoan natives, musing on her surprise discoveries of their mating rituals.

And ESPN played its hand. I can’t think of a single top-tier match I’ve been to in Europe that didn’t have timed exits from the visitors’ section so security can control the perimeter at the match’s end.

He was a great player, but fuck me, the guy would be sweeping a factory floor if he didn't have football.
:lol2:

I was listening to a podcast at work today and it had Gary Cahill commenting on the game…fucks sake, are all English (ex) footballers that thick and marble mouthed? Just a bunch of cliches, lame platitudes and zero insight.
