Personally I don't know how Celtic fans can even stand it. Clearly their talent and capabilities are so vastly superior to any of their opponents and potential opponents, it almost takes the fun out of the match already knowing the lopsided outcome in advance.

I really admire all the Celtic fans who put up with the farce of the whole season anyway, despite its inevitability.

Cheating sissy Itys don't stand a chance against that kind of passion.

They are both hard to break down, yes

but juventus has a significant advantage in chance creation, compared to celtic
Sure, but chance creation hasn't been the problem for Juventus has it? It's been finishing. I think Juve will be looking to one of the more creative players to come up with something, and it will be those guys that Lennon will be looking to stop with the hard working midfielders. It's basically gwan be one big grinta orgy, and I think it'll be one of those matches we'll all always remember as juventini

Celtic's big problem is consistency. The squad is full of very promising young players. And most of them tend to show up in big games.

Last game we played a 352 with Brown, Kayal and Wanyama as the CMs. All three are very physical, hard working ball chasers. Celtic can look extremely well organised and can prove hard to break down. Samaras (again on his day) can be very tricky for opposition defences as he is deceptively quick and can dribble his man (I have no idea how sometimes, though. I swear he's the luckiest player around! Charlie Mulgrew has emerged as a very solid defender as well as being very capable on set pieces, especially corners. Kelvin Wilson has had something of a Barzagli-sequence emergence as a defence-leading CB. Meanwhile, Ambrose is our version of Bonucci. He's looked very good at times but is still prone to a clanger every so often.

Meanwhile, Fraser Forster is the in form GK on these islands and if a chance falls to Hooper he'll bury it. This will be a very interesting and very tough game for both teams. Both MY teams

I think this Celtic team is a deceptively difficult and inconvenient opponent for a team like Juve that has the tendency to miss chances up front. Celtic is likely to have the same defensive approach they used vs Barca by allowing possession to Juve but stay well organized and physical in defense and midfield and yet very dangerous on the counter.
They suffered only two, close defeats in the group stage - both in away games vs Benfica and Barca - the latter of which could well have been a 1-1 draw with Barca scoring in injury time. It's not by chance that they almost got 4 points from a team like Barca and at the same time being a low-flying, easy to underestimate team, makes them that much more dangerous.

An early goal can open up any game but I don't expect either of these two to be a high scoring one where the game gets away from Celtic. Expect to see two physical, close games with Juve, despite undoubtedly being the higher quality team, having a tough time breaking down Celtic and creating chances. Set pieces could well prove decisive over both legs.

Mirroring is fine for approach, but you simply cannot mirror their talent. 7-8 of their players are among football's all-time Starting XI. It's not like simply mimicking approach can make up for that dramatic difference.

I think you are running the risk of having to eat quite a bit of humble pie, mate :D

Better? Perhaps not but close? Yes.
maybe ... that doesn't make Cagliari a better, or even as good, a team though ;). This being said, how these two compare, is virtually irrelevant to who goes to the 1/4 finals

It does not.

It's just funny that those Celtic fans are absolutely convinced they're going to beat us and walk on towards Wembley. They're the ones who need to eat humble pie.

Red was right on all the negative things he said about Celtic fans.

Fans will always be fans ... and from what I am witnessing here, you guys are also hard at work to match them in the "underestimate your opponent" challenge :D

Merely regurgitating what I am reading, dear sir. :hi:

Humility is hardly a one-way street.

Especially when Celtic apparently owns all the pie in the universe.

People should not forget, the first game is in glasgow

we can perfectly mirror their approach
We go there to win.

I don't think it'd be wrong to even say their bench and reserves could make up the best XI of all-time besides their starters.
