Because they couldn't, not because they just decided to sit back. They tried to press high and move the ball around but Liverpool upped their intensity and concentration levels and they couldn't get out of their half anymore.
Not in the same way as 1st half. 1st half was the only time i have seen Liverpool really being suppressed this year besides against a couple of other teams: City has managed to do it, Inter also to some extent in the first match in Milano. Liverpool upped their game but were allowed to as well. 2nd half Villareal looked like they came out with a different mindset: more anxious to keep "control" type of mentality that we ourselves as juve supporters know so well.

That said, playing a high press of the intensity as they did in the first half is exhausting, so all credit to them.

GK changed the game!
This is the same gk that looked like buffon against us.
Also true, terrible performance from him today

Being 2-0 against Liverpool should not undermine Juve's and Bayern's utter failure of a performance.
Reread this, don't you think you're underrating them there? There's not just individual quality, this is a team sport and cohesiveness is important. Galacticos era at Real Madrid is a prime example of individual quality not being the only factor which makes a team better on the night

Went to Mainz and has won them the promotion to the Budesliga for the first time in their history.
Went to 13th placed Dortmund and has won them their first league title in 10 years against an absolutely stacked Bayern team twice in a row and also got them to the CL final
Went to 10th placed Liverpool and was able to turn all things around in few years and has won them their 6th European Cup and first premier league trophy.
One of greatest coaches ever. Fucking beast. Gegen pressing king.

I must say Im very impressed with Villareal tactical approach. The arent playing exactly to my liking but their positioning is fantastic (despite the result).
How many years Emery manages Villareal?

Liverpool`s goals - Definitely due to poor goalkeeping.

City has all players available. Real missing Alaba. It’s gonna be interesting game. Forza City. Will city play pragmatic game like they did with Atleti or will Pep attack from minute one.
