great, add more luck factor :sergio:
Luck is more involved in a single game than in the two-legs. This shit won't benefit "lucky-ass" Juve AT ALL :D
If it's a mini tournament, then each club will play more than one semi game no? Doesn't make sense otherwise. But they want all games to be completed in one week? Doesn't make sense

I'd presume it's the same as EuroLeague Final Four (football seems to be borrowing a lot of ideas lately from Euro basketball :D), heres last year f.e.:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_EuroLeague_Final_Four

Basically you have fans of 4 teams traveling to a hosting city, staying for a longer period of time and the whole things looks more like a cohesive tournament with more games on neutral ground in on place and closer dates.

Good for them, strike while they are riding high. Things change all the time though, it'll be completely Klopp's decision.

Looking from the outside in there's no footballing reason for him to go to any other club, but I don't think when he leaves it'll be anything to do with football.

What's also good for them is the direct competition with a very strong Man City team. So they cannot rest on their laurels and have to perform at a high level and consistency all the time. Take us or Bayern for example, we didn't really have to do that and standards slip, complacency comes in from all areas of the club.

I never realized just how dumb the away goal rule was until this season. I can't believe it took them so long to change it
With the away goal rule you're not allowed to make mistakes. Stakes are high (home and away) and its do or die. But ties can be killed off rather easily and its less fair. Depends what you prefer

Too many teams got lucky with away goals in the past I think this way the best team over the two legs has a better chance of progressing
And the fact that the away goal rule was still working in the extra time  Both team were equal after 180 minutes of play, why the fuck away team has an advantage in the extra time? Just why? What a fucking disgrace it was

The home time is playing at home. If you are in extra time and legs are tired, there is an advantage to having the fans behind you. If you're liverpool and playing city or Madrid in extra time, wouldnt you want to be at Anfield?

I am not saying away goals rule is the proper solution for it but there is definitely an advantage to being at home during extra time.

The whole idea that is easier to play at home is just another retarded bs that was created by the media, nowadays the gap between home/away teams is small. The away goal rule was created many years ago to avoid additional traveling because it was pretty expensive back then and logistics were bad, nobody gave a shit about "home advantage", its was all about saving the money.

Stadium environment makes a big difference for sure. It's not a surprise that teams often have their best records at him and the fans are a huge part of that.

Statistics since the mid-1970s show a clear trend of continuous reduction in the gap between the number of home-away wins (from 61%-19% to 47%-30%) and the average number of goals per match scored at home-away (from 2.02-0.95 to 1.58-1.15) in men’s competitions.
Now there is no need to be scared to concede at home knowing that you've might need to score 2 goals in away match, finally this retarded rule is dead and gone.

Sports move faster now, soccer (deal with it all of you) is no exception to this. It's a lot easier to make a mistake when things move at a faster pace. You hear the same complaints in other sports as well, as do observations of the overall pace being increased.
after canada and usa make it further in WC than England, the beautiful game will officially be called soccer :kenny:

I usually despise most changes UEFA try to usher in, but getting rid of the away goals rule is the best thing they’ve done in ages. It was a totally obsolete rule that ran it’s course years ago.

I also kind of like the 5 subs rule that came in after COVID and I really hope that stays permanently.

Do we also need to change the Juventus jersey because it belongs to Foot Locker now or can we keep that? :p
