The Italians simply can't compete though, even without the corruption. They're simply not rich enough. Europe was slowly reduced two three leagues over time; English, Spanish and Italian because of finance, then over time most of the leagues became one man league besides the EPL. Now there really is only one league left. The EPL really did destroy football. International football died a long time ago, now club football is mediocre baring the EPL.

You have big teams such as PSG signing Donarumma and not even using him. Previously players would be more evenly spread because the super teams cannot afford to keep such quality on the bench. Dude, Serie A literally had 3 Italian teams in the Semi Final in 2003 and two in the final when Abramovic bought Chelsea that year. The Chelsea-Abromovic purchase was simply the marking point.
