I agree, but those instances happen for a club maybe every 50 years, or ever 10-15 for all clubs across the continent. Unfortunately the top tier clubs do it less now simply because they don't need to. They buy players. Shit, they buy youth players and pass them off as their own, just because it ticks that box for club trained status.

I think clubs like Man Utd or Barcelona will definitely keep producing players but these will be in batches of 2 or 3, it's harder to break into elite sides now. Well, Man Utd are shit but they still struggle to mass produce genuine talent like before, because they can go and spend millions to attempt fixing problems. I agree that we should do far more because there's no reason why we shouldn't be producing our own Rashford or Greenwood, but like you say it is an even more difficult task in Serie A, and as the elite club with massive salary budget and squad the chances of it happening at Juve gets less all the time. We just go and buy a Kulusevski and we're done with it.

Even with the U23 you see we are getting €4m for Mattias Andersson (who? exactly), €5m for Han. That will go on.

We'll make over €50m for just Audero and Kean, who we've had since children. We talk about providing players for the first team but the club knows it will only be truly exceptional players who get a chance.

sad thing is that our academy didn't produce any exceptional player for more than a decade, bar from marchisio (and immobile, who was a flop for multiple clubs before he settled at lazio and became a stable +20 goals per year player). what are the odds... i mean the academy mass produces players on a yearly basis, so we should see at least 1 or 2 homegrown players getting the chance with the first squad from time to time. but that's not the case: juve lacks some usable homegrown talent so much that the club doesn't even bother filling the homegrown quota anymore.

Our u23 got some nice results recently like beating the leader Monza and progressing in CI semifinal. Il Bianconero recently made a list of 10 promising players from there including Fagioli, Moreno and some more. I think that creating this u23 was a huge step in the right direction.
