Before I sift through the pages, did any Atletico fan show up and leave detailed info about their team?

You did, but van Dijk won't be there in first leg, so they shouldn't be too confident.

That's the thing - it doesn't.

They're our clones. We're just a little better.

We do better against more attacking teams who're not as good at the back.

In a low scoring affair, key moments and luck play a bigger factor. We've to be aware of that and stop wasting chances by then.

What do those midfielders have to do with Javi Martinez? They can't play that role.
How can you compare juventus with Atletico Madrid they play most boring style of football they find it difficult to score goals against all small team on other hand we are like well drilled machine just we have to clinical in taking our chances

Until there I wasn't sure if you were discribing Juventus or Atletico.

Interesting draw, one of the worst two sides we could have drawn but it's not like it should really matter. If we can't get past Atlético then I doubt we'd go much further. They pose the kind of problems that we are more familiar with so for that reason it's marginally a better draw than Liverpool at this stage, but by the time the games come it's a different prospect anyway.
Totally agree. Plus, I am really looking forward to face them, unlike Ajax, Schalke etc. I'd like to compliment Atleti as I think they are a great team. Very good coach who has formed a collective of his players with brilliant individuals like Oblak, Griezmann. What also needs to be said is that they have a decent bench, Vitolo, Gelson etc. Still, I think we are clearly the better side, no doubt. If we play two good games we will qualify.

Wasn't saying we're exactly like them, but both teams are tactical, good defensively, tend to isolate and predate on opponents' weaknesses, and are well coached.

In many ways we are a slightly better version of them.

Point was we fare better against teams that play more open footy and leave space at the back.

That's an outdated myth IMO, we struggled a lot vs Tottenham last season.

Costa has been very poor for like two years now.

Again? Last year Real's journey to the final was PSG - Juve - Bayern.
They also had seasons they got Wolfsburg and Napoli or Roma. It happens time to time. Im not suggested its fixed. Just fed up. Ajax is still easier than some other teams out there. In tired of Real winning it every season. No anti agendas just want new faces and new stories. Real this and real that. You just know Real will get through because of more experience. Bale will come and score wonder goal again after being 6 months injured. And Real will put all eggs into CL basket cause Barca run away with league again.

I don't mind the best team winning. During the road to 2015 and 2017 finals we also got opponents like Monaco (twice), Porto, BVB (who were bottom of the Bundesliga at the time).

We struggled because they ran over our midfield. And then we took advantage of the gaps they left in defense.

They don't have the same midfield this season. Dembele is a very different player now.

In any case, exactly how hard it'll be against Atletico will depend a lot on their injuries, on who recovers.

We basically do have the same midfield though, that's the problem. At the moment at least, lets see what January brings.
