Really?
If our strikers can't score against their $#@!e defense we have no business of being in the CL at all.
We will not play an open game. As the fear of them tearing us apart will be at the back of all minds. We're not a pacey enough squad for counter attacking against these lot. I hope I'm proved wrong so badly. If it were any other club I'll fancy our chances. Just hope Max gets everything spot on with tactics. That's the only way we'll get through this one.

Another important factor, which is completely out of our control, is whether Messi decides to turn up or not.

most previews expect a tough midfield battle. i'm not sure about it, though. we can't play the psg game as psg's 3-man physical midfield with verratti, rabiot and matuidi were much more suited to pressing than our double pivot. we can try to get cuadrado and mandzukic press their midfielders hard so that they couldn't even pass the ball to neymar or messi, but that's probably not the way we'll work. also, we can't counter like 2 years ago, we can't rely on the passing game of pirlo, vidal or pogba, so max has to find a completely new way to keep 'msn' away from the ball and to get through their defense. it might be the mourinho/inter way from 2010: don't fuck around with midfield possession, just try to get long balls to the strikers, maybe to alves and as, and press directly their build-up even from the defense.

btw if we had morata, i'd be confident that we could counter the shit out of them. i miss alvaro...

We "can't counter like 2 years ago"?

Cuadrado, Alex Sandro, Dani Alves, Dybala and Higuain aren't capable of playing a counter attack? Seriously?

And what do you mean we can't rely on "the passing game of Vidal"?

His passing has been abysmal at times, Vidal as a whole was abysmal in the final against Barca.

Pjanic is a better passer than the Dabho, Khedira a better passer than Vidal, we lack Pirlo's magic moments - true, but we also "lack" his non existing defending.

Mandzukic/Alex Sandro + Cuadrado/Dani Alves will lock down the flanks, Dybala will (like always) drop deep and basically play as our 3rd CM.

We can do this ffs :D

If we were facing the same Barca of 2 years ago I would understand all this worrying and fussing. But seeing them more then enough this season, besides highly experienced and deadly attack, they are litterally there for the taking. They expose themselves plenty of times. So we will have opportunity to punish and take game to them. Aslong as we don't hide in our little shell outside our box.

We don't miss Vidal passing (but Pogba is fantastic at it, when he wants to release the ball) but we will surely miss their dynamic qualities big time. Defend physically and attack with purpose like no other CMs.

But we have higher technical quality now then we did then, lost Pogba, Pirlo and Tevez technical quality, but gained even more of such with Dybala, Pjanic, Higuain, Sandro and Alves who are all mostly superior with the ball to their counter parts in that Juve.

Biggiest asset this game will be Cuadrado, hope he is on his A game because his type of pace and dribbling is exactly what this scattered Barca defence hates.

The only thing that can destroy us is pussy tactics.
