What's the current situation in Georgia? Are the Russians still occupating more territories than South Ossetia and Abkhazia? I'm asking because there are still uncertain information in media.
You have got my support, my organization (young classical liberals) have been organizing demonstrations in the centres of main cities in Poland against Russian agression towards independent country and innocent people, I've written an article in Polish also.
Conflict was certain weeks before, when the Russians gathered thousands of troops in the North Ossetia to perform "military exercise" and after that separatists from South Ossetia cancelled talks with Saakashvili about Ossetia's status within Georgian borders...

Well in Canada you have only Stephen Harper close to this ideology among political leaders, but he isn't enough economically liberal either. It isn't a popular ideology nowadays, the right is rather christian-democratic, commonly believing in welfare-state in most of European countries and modern liberalism has been cut off from conserative worths. But we are still refering to Tocqueville's, Burke's or Smith's thoughts and conisdering thatcherism and reaganism the best way to rule a country.
So the Russians recognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent countries.
Now the ones who opened Pandora's box with recognizing Kosovo's independence are the most loud and they can't stop blaming Russia for breaking the international law.
Personally, since the very beginning, i was against what the US did with Kosovo and i'm against what Russia did now. But what do you guys think about the EU and US reaction on what Russia does ?
