so you say a "past it" cannavaro (who in my opinion still was useful) is better then bonucci ?
zanetti who was always injured and nocerino where better central midfielders than melo and aquilani ?
marchionni was better than krasic ?
the balerina tiago was better than todays marchisio ?

oh boy ... you guys really have a really short memory :p

the only better thing we got back then was nedved.... fullstop
Del Piero was still effective back then.

There was also almost always an in-form partner for Del Piero.

i am just talking about players he had ... if someone is in form or not could actually have to do with the training (instructed by the coach), couldn't it ?

since he said the ranieris team was better, i just wanted to prove him wrong.

i don't want to bash del neri ... just wanna clear those calciopoli blured vision on the past

not to forget, you compare Krasic with Nedved and not with Marchionni..
uh wait ... yeah, then i might as well compare del piero with manninger ...
nedved played left, krasic does exclusively play right ... but yeah, i forgot camo (who still was injured or out of form very often) ... now that is not even a close one between camo and krasic, is it ?

point stands ... ranieris team of "has-beens" was not better than the current team.

First game I miss of ours this season, and it was for a stupid reason like assuming we would play on Thursday as usual. But I hear I didnt miss much, as usual. Honestly its pathetic we just embarrassed ourselves in EL 2 seasons in a row, when we are suppoed to be "too good" for it, heh.
Missed the game too, for the same reason and I agree with the rest as well

The team back then, was inferior to what we currently have, apart from 3 players :

non injured buffon
nedved
in form del piero, who was top 5 best player of the world that time

i will never forget when he went of in madrid, having bagged the win 0-2, and getting a standing ovation from madrid fans.

This is a competition some of you were claiming is beneath us, and here we are eliminated with 1 round to go and without a win. Regardless of the horrendous conditions (seriously UEFA, wtf), we put ourselves into this situation over the previous 4 matches. Sure, we may have won on a pitch not covered in snow or conditions not pushing -20, but we may have lost as well. Given how poorly we had performed in the EL up to this point, I'm inclined to believe the latter.

Sad thing is there's still plenty of time to crash and burn like last season in the Serie A as well...

I'm not too bothered that we're out of the EL. With all the injuries and all the cup tied players we weren't going to threaten anyone.

We had two experienced strikers today; Iaquinta who scores whenever he feels like and a 37 year old Del Piero. In general half the squad consisted of primavera kids.

I don't think it's fare to judge the team or Del Neri with what we had.

I doubt it. Last seasons problems were more about team morale than anything else. The players didn't respect Ciro or Zaccheroni and the results followed.

Our squad is more determined this season. I know tonight's result may suggest otherwise, but our failure to advance was because we lack quality, not because we gave up and accepted the result like the team did countless time last season.

I made the argument a few weeks back on another thread in regards to the capabilities of DUMB Neri, and if he is in fact a better coach than Ranieri or Zac....

My answer then and now is a big fat NO !!! I knew this clown was gonna make excuses about the temperature, weather, and the pitch, but I saw a 5th place team in the Polish league, who are mediocre at best, outplay a team filled with internationals. This also happened against the same team, in better weather conditions back in the balmy weather of early fall.

Our team was out-played, out-possessed, out-muscled and out-hustled.... the mighty Juventus we are not !! We didnt even win a fucking game in the group stage of this league, how are we improving as a club ????

I am so embarassed right now, and if were not going to replace the cyclops with Luciano Moggi, then DUMB Neri needs to be sacked or resign RIGHT FUCKING NOW !!! We are going NOWHERE with this mid-table loser in charge. Let him go back to Chievo or Samp and be happy just to qualify for a European tournament, and do NOTHING in it !!!

Someone please tell me, what is this imbeciles record in Europe ??? He won a few games against an Irish pub league team, so fucking what. He doesnt have one ounce of European experience to run a club like ours...nor does he have any Scudetti in his resume either...what the fuck are we doing here ??? Can you imagine what will happen if we (somehow) get a CL spot next season ?? We wont even make it out of the prelims !!!!

I have never been a fan of this clown, or the blind fool in charge, and as far as I'm concerned, they can both fucking leave !!! We wont win fuck all with these 2 douchebags at our club

I would like to see Pepe, who has as much skill as I do, leave as soon as possible too. Cant cross, cant pass, no skills...great signing, Stevie Wonder !!!

Momo "hot potato" Sissoko has to go, too. Everytime the ball comes to him, he just kicks it away, like its a hot potato. He cannot comprehend the process of trapping the ball and taking a look to see who's open before passing the ball. He should go to my 5 year olds training sessions, maybe she and her teammates can teach him a thing or two.

I think to show our discontent with this Europa fiasco, NO ONE should go to the stadium when Man City comes to Turin in a totally meaningless game
