Someone who recylces and uses green energy at their optimum will increase their carbon footprint twenty times per child they have.

It doesn't matter what you do, it matters if you have the kid.
Greatness

Some people who are serious about wanting to reduce their "carbon footprint" on the Earth have one choice available to them that may yield a large long-term benefit - have one less child.
So if a family decided to have 7 children and raise 6 they have done well? There are no numbers to what is the optimal amount of children a family should have and I am sure in a country like Sweden if I happen to have 3 children it won't affect the average size family one bit. Do you know why porn was so popular in the 70s in Scandinavia?

Its coming from a person that believes in witchdoctors....probably is the best he can come up with, just repeating what he gets told all the time.

Don't want to start an argument with you, but the planet couldn't care less about overpopulation or any other gass increases or decrese. The planet is a flying rock, that has no interests in anything that is happening here.
No disagreement there. People love to project humanistic values onto the planet, when in essence people fucking shit up is just another puny, two-second story in the history of natural selection and equilibrium on the planet.

I don't think the reference to "the planet" is a literal reference to the hunk of space rock we live on.

For me it isn't even really about issues of green house - its just the easiest thing to prove the point of over population. For me the real issue is global hectares - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_hectare. The concept is based around how much food, water, living space, healthcare, energy etc. requirements per person and it is a real issue and if populations keep growing there wont be enough water and food for developed countries.

One could argue that people are part of the environment. Like a tiger to the jungle.
