What is there to look at if he fails to bring a top forward? Seriously now, why is it that there has to be defence on other matters when the only thing that matters is reinforcing the forward line?
Are you trying to tell me that Marrotta will not be held accountable if he doesnt sign a quality striker? His job/profile within the company would definitely be on the line if he fails to complete this task on Conte and Agnelli's watch.
From what I know, Marotta has 2 main responsibilities: Making sure we're able to field a competitive team & keeping our finances in check (which meant & probably still means cutting costs wherever possible).
To say he's failed in either of those would be a flat out lie, no 2 ways about it.

There is, simply put, no suggestion whatsoever that his job is on the line. And that's regardless even of what happens this summer. Besides, he's already been confirmed as part of the bod for the next few seasons.

^ you like to sensationalize everything you read. You'd make a fine journo for Tuttosport tbh.
Funny because it's true

I see some people still insist on the "we offered 30M for Jovetic last season" line.

Has this ever been confirmed by Marotta or anyone else at our club? Serious question.
You had to ask? :D

I just wanted the inevitable 50 paragraph response from baggio :D
This I thought was common knowledge around these parts B_Aus. @Mark. Is it wrong to suggest that we offered 30m for Jojo last term?

Baggio is one of the good guys though.

:agree: We are all good guys :shifty:

for how much do you guys think we can buy Tevez? and how much if we include Melo in the transfer? (if city are really interested in him)
7-8m plus Melo. Should be enough.

And you'd still be reading.

Besides, what have I sensationalized? Our interest in RvP or Aguero, or that we had an agreement Witt the former?

The clause was created after the window shut last year. Keeping the future window in mind iirc. 30 m is also the figure GDM mentioned, but said it was too late for Fiorentina to do anything with the amount, as they had only a day or two to find a replacement. So they refused.

Hmm, it's possible, we have 'forced hand' (AKA panic buy) form with Matri, but €30m is a big offer.

GDM had said it was all cash, 30m last summer. This year, though it's cash plus player since we have a lot more time on the mercato. As do they.

It looked like. Mostly due to the failed RvP bid, and I'm guessing the desperation to get the 'top' player. This year is a very different proposition though. We would be in the driver's seat for a deal like that, especially if Jojo pushes for Juve.
