The taarabt argument again :sergio: I enjoy the guy he's my countryman, he plays the kind of football i play. Is he good enough to play for Juve, No. Will i wants him in Juve, Yes. Is there any chance for him to play at Juve, No. So leave him out of this. Taarabt left the NT. I know the guy is fucked up and i know that mentality.
Tevez is another story and his a different kind of player making tons of money playing in the CL already 28 years old so you'd assumed he's matured, and there are real links to him so i don't overrate him like some members do ( Badass :sergio:) so that what i'm arguying now.
I loled because he said he would make the same difference at Zidane and i said that Aguero, Rooney are better. Does it show i'm biased, i'm just stating facts.
The reason I said that is because you in particular reacted very strongly to Tevez not coming off the bench while most members just laughed it off and you said something along the lines of that's not how professionals behave. Just makes me wonder if you always felt this way about him.

I'm not very fond of Tevez, i didn't expect a player of his status to do something like that, you'd expect that if he was in 20/21 but he's 28 now you'd assume he's more mature now spending like 6 years in Europe. I reacted strongly that night after watching Manicini interview and i realised how lucky these players are to be getting paid for what they love to do and they could act like this sometimes.

While I'll agree with you on Effectiveness & Technique > Heart, there are Physiological factors in play when it comes to sports. Right now, Tevez is high risk because he act like a nutter. I'm reluctant to sign him if i was Juve, no matter how good he is.
Its not like he is being like Adriano. The fall out was inevitable and expected. Thats why they bought Aguero when they have a better player who is their captain.

The guy declared to the whole world that he was miserable but that he will always perform his duty towards the club and he did so for 2 years that were really the best level of performance he ever displayed. City obviously saw that he wont be part of the club in the long term so they held on to Tevez and rejected all offers that came his way (and he kept performing at WC level) until they found a replacement.

They found Aguero as his replacement and ever since they signed him Tevez has been out of their plans... They decided to use him as an impact sub when in dire need of help to get use out of him as long as they pay his checks but he has already been demotivated in terms of performing for the first time in his City career.. not because he hates england or because he misses his family but because he is no longer depended on and is already replaced. He knows that he wont be first choice no matter what happens because the City management are not gonna continue to build their play style around a player that is about to depart they HAD to give him a marginal role for the sake of the team.

Think of it this way. If you are building a new team and could magically get Messi for a 6 month loan period.. would you build your new Juve around Messi or rather around someone less talented but that is going to be around for the long term? obviously you'd give messi a marginal role despite his talent even if he would bang a hatrick every day because you know that the team will get used to having him around and when he leaves it will collapse. Now let me ask you this, would messi be motivated to perform if he knows that no matter what he does he will always have a marginal role and leave the club in 6 months?

My point is that ANY player would be demotivated like Tevez was and in fact a lot sooner than tevez was. It is only the manner by which he presented his demotivation that made the big media fuss and not being demotivated. He has every right to not be motivated the only mistake he did is the way he showed it to the world.

Tevez would have never refused to play and will never do that in the future unless he finds himself in a similar situation where he is seen as useless and in fact dangerous to depend on. You should not fear that he might hate turin and miss his family because even if he did he will still perform at the highest level like he proved with city for 2 seasons (something that I doubt most WC players can do). The worst you can fear is a media embarrasment and that will be years after we take what we want from him (that is the scudetto) and start buying long term replacements in his place.

Alright.

Yes, while Tevez did give Man City some of it's best years while being unhappy. you have to understand he was getting paid big time by the sheiks. It's like this, while your job and employer and some the worst things and people you have meet, you're being payed by the bucketful. You still do it, because of the money.

Also on your Messi analogy. I would chose to go long term with the lesser quality player. Now don't get me wrong, Leo is great player, but if got him for 6 month, that would mean I've have to go on the search again for a player of similar characteristic and pay up an arm and a leg to get, when I could of build around the lesser in hopes that gets to that level of play at the fraction of the time and price. My mother said it best to me.

"I would rather work & save for 2 to 3 years so that in 5 to 10 year, I have a bountiful supply than spend playing keeping up with the Jones's for every 2 to 3 years."

Ofcoarse I am on your side in the messi analogy.. I was just trying to give the rationale behind city's actions and tevez's loss of motivation when he got replaced.

About working for money, Tevez still worked for money but he lost his motivation. This was because of losing his role not because of boredom or hatred towards england or for wanting more money.
