Tevez is better but I wouldn't say twice. He was unconvincing for us last season too in both European competitions. He a had a long drought in the CL that lasted 3 years. Thats not something that world class strikers go through. You wont find that kind of drought for a lot of top players.
I am happy he exorcised that demon though.
I'm starting to think a big reason for that could've been the way Conte played him. The whole team was toothless in Europe and we didn't seem to have a plan when attacking.

Interesting comment by Sacchi. Baggio was immense, but so is Tevez.

I saw the interview, and Sacchi's point was that they are pretty much equals when it comes to attacking talent/forward play, but what makes Tevez the better player is that he also tracks back and works hard for the midfield and defense. That there's simply more to his game.

Tevez responded to Sacchi with a smile, and very humbly said: "Thank you so much, I'm honored that you would compare me to such a great player."

Class.

Same with Mancini at City. City as a whole was absolutely terrible in Europe during Tevez's time there. He just wasn't provided service. And I'm pretty sure his one season there as he only really played for them in 1 CL season, they had that group of death. Real Madrid< Dortmund, Ajax. Tevez only started 3 games, and was a sub in 2 others. So he played in 6 games in total in CL and only 3 as a starter for City. @Hist

His European performance for city is much more a case of hardly any playing time in Europe, rather than poor performance.

Last season for Juve was a mess. Certainly. But I'd say that was in part again, Juve as a whole was a mess in Europe. Now that Juve is performing, Tevez is performing. This is the first time he's played in CL since ManU on a team that actually looks decent in Europe.

Tevez is just too good for us. Maybe he is not top of the top tier class in forwards...but he is pretty fucking close to it...and like sacchi said... his workload as a forward is world class and UNMATCHED. This characteristic alone is pretty unique to Tevez.

I have said this many times.... but when i was younger i fapped so hard when he was at boca and almost never missed a boca game...always fantasysing that he would one day partner and eventually suceed Del Piero. It didnt happeend the way i envisioned it... but fuk damn i was sooo right about him being the perfect fit for Juve.

What a fucking class

He will not be a del piero like icon... but he definitely embodies what Juventus players should be. Class, discipline, talent, grinta and never give up attitude. And to make things even better, he seems to be playing to his full standards after so many up and downs around the world. He seems totally made for juve, as he was for Boca Jrs
He is one of a kind.

Man I never thought he had this in him, he had such a bad mental block in Europe for years. Last season looked like it confirmed it. But, I'll gladly eat my Words on this. Tevez stepped up in a huge game in Europe for us.

Everybody who fought me on the likes of Llorente can suck midget honey coated AIDS infested dick though, because despite a year of bullshit I was spot on.

Man, he said this in the transfer thread about Tevez:

"LAzy fat $#@! who will say someday that life in Turin is boring"

Dude, we all lived that Tevez thread. If you go through it, he gets absolutely destroyed by most of the forum  Such an argumentative little cocksucker he is, and 99% of the time he argues for the sake of it. Pure clown.

Llorente has been simply terrible this season, but in 13-14 he was very good. He doesn't really suit Allegri's style of football. So I won't be shocked if he's cut loose at seasons end.

You can't be using a 6'5 lump without him being the focal point of attack, in between a pair of wingers. Even when he was scoring his general play was still pissing people off.

And for 4M/season he's either a starter or he's gone.

I already debunked this myth to a certain extent. Last season was his first really bad CL season.

He started 3 games in CL in his entire time at City, and was subbed on for about 15 minutes in 3 other games over the course of two seasons.

At ManU he was decent in the CL.

Only last season with Juve, and the 6 games in CL was he really bad. In reality, he had one very bad season in Europe with Juventus. And spent a lot of time with City not really playing in Europe.

I dont want Llorente the man gone...i really dont...but by simple logics, Llorente the player right now is a huge surplus.

We not only get rid of his huge salary..but we also will earn some money by selling him if we play our cards right. He is in deep trouble right now.

Sure I don't disagree with that. City being shit is ofcoarse a great part of it but I'd note that he wasn't seen as a solution though because his performances went down heavily with them. Some players however are so good that they keep bringing the ruckus even while the rest of the team screws up.

Tevez has rediscovered himself with us. Last season he rediscovered himself in the league and this season he kept up the good form in the league and rediscovered himself in Europe. He wasn't as good as he is now for a long time with City and thats why the idiots saw him as surplus to requirements instead of making sure he finds good form again.

:agree:

Tevez doesn't seem the player to transcend the situation of the club he is at. IE. His last two years at ManCity. But in a settled team, with a good coach, and good mindset, he's one of the best players in the world.

He's a passionate, emotional, fiery guy. Off-field issues and team nonsense likely affect him more than many.
