There were several things at play there. And I think Del Piero may have been somewhat responsible too. If you look at post 1998 Del Piero you have to be honest and say there were always fitness concerns. It's no coincidence that at his in fittest 2002-03 and 2007-08 he was marvellous. Especially in 2008 considering his age it was incredible. But there have also been numerous seasons when he showed glimpses of great skill, but condemned the team to a lot of hard work. Personally I think Del Piero did not look fit in 2011-12. I think he could have gotten in shape again and added another 2 years to his career at Juventus, but perhaps the motivation wasn't there or maybe it really was over. Either way he was just not fit enough IMO.

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h8anjPHDsM

You know, this video is why I always liked Italian football so much. Look at the fans.. Some of them are not just crying, but bawling their eyes out. The sheer passion.. And the stadium speaker is so fucking eloquent. My God.
Holy crap my chest just totally froze and you ruined my day with that video...

Why ?

Dybala would probably need time to settle into Juventus. Its good that the club is being proactive and looking to replace Tevez a year early knowing the circumstances.

Cavani isn't coming, now way.

Zaza would be a Llorente/Matri replacement.

Advanced is something very different from old, even if it's sometimes just used as an euphemism for it ;)
its depend on our system for next season.remember Llorente performance in last season when conte was our coach.but he is runner in new system which Allegri brought in just doesn't suit Fernando.if so tevez has been our best forward in this season.he has 31 yrs and he has improved than last seasons He's been one of the important players at this season, which is probably the best season in nearly 10 years. cavani has 28 yrs.28 is nothing nowadays.cavani could play for another 5 years at a top team.

Dybala plays as a lone striker for Palermo, which is why i think he can work perfectly fine with either Morata and Tevez. he would be in a similar situation Morata was this season before he became a starter, when he was starting with either Tevez or Llorente in some games. after a season of being used this way he could be ready to take Tevez' spot in the starting XI.

that means no need for dybala..
How? Dybala can be a back-up for Tévez, it will be great be able to rotate our strikers and having a diferent offensive threat in our arsenal. Having him one year under Tevez's mentoring will do him wonders, he's already a fantastic player, but he's still young and can learn a lot from a world class striker like Carlitos.

The ref copying him
He's explaining him why he was sent off :D
