Tevez: “Just what the boss wanted”
Carlos Tevez today added a new entry to his collection of stunning goals at Juventus Stadium with a gem that proved to be the winner against Genoa.
After his glorious strikes at the home of the Bianconeri against Lazio and Verona, the 29-year-old sensation ensured that the Rossoblu’s unbeaten run at the ground came to an end when he dodged past his marker and fired beyond Mattia Perin with 36 minutes played.
Speaking after the final whistle blew on the 2-0 win, the Argentine said:
“We needed to respond to our defeat in Florence and we managed to do just that. We played in the way that Conte had asked us to.”
When posed the question of whether he considers himself an example of this Juventus team, Tevez replied:
“I’m always keen to help out my team-mates, especially since people were saying that we were in crisis.”
On the news that Roma have recorded another victory to stay ahead of the Serie A chasing pack, he commented:
“It’s no problem, there’s a long way to go. The important thing is that we carry on playing like this.”
