i was a chef for 5 years and was very good at it was earning good money but pissed it all against a wall, something happened and i was unable to work for a few months and i relised life was passing me by as i worked split shifts, every weekend, late in the night. i work in a hospital now and get paid a hell of a lot less but its cool, i get to help people and my life is a hell of a lot better, plus i met my better half there so i guess it depends on your perspective, for me i get paid less but the job is so much more rewarding and my life is so much better

money. I've already got friends and family so its not really a decision anyhow. Besides friends can be bought

Ok let me simplify this question further, because I think too many variables are being thrown into the mix.

    What would you choose?

Being a substitute at Juventus, earning an ordinary sum? Or the # 10 star/playmaker at Palermo earning an excellent salary?

You should have phrased it like this: being a substitute at Juve earning an excellent salary, or the star player at Torino earning meagre bucks...

To give you an example: you're working in a good company that's going to look even better on your CV, but you're not empowered how you'd like to be and they dont pay you enough either. Up pops a smaller company, willing to pay you the kind of money you've always dreamed of, but the job profile isnt half as exciting as where you're currently employed. Which would you choose and why?
Depends on where I was with my career. Early stages, you've got to build experience, both real and CV-centric. Later on, you can compromise.

You example is maybe flawed. After all, you seem to be suggesting that the smaller company would offer more responsibility for more money. That's usually the sign of a job that'll help your CV, not hurt it.

Must you post in that patronising holier than thou tone all the time? Its very tiresome. I mean do you have your own opinion on anything or do you just quote from mother teresa's autobiography everytime there's any kind of debate raging?

Much simpler question - Palermo. If you're that good, someone will pick you up on bigger money still at some stage.

You only sit on the bench for big money. Think Winston Bogarde at Chelsea - £7,000,000 wages, two games. :D

    Does he?

Well let me enlighten you Tom, friends in the real sense of the word, cannot be bought.
    Yeah I do, buttwipe :D
But not as much as Erik of course :)

You'd know that would you? Have you actually tried it out? Depends what you want from friends I guess. Personally its a group of people up for a laugh to share good times with. I'm sure people like that can be bought.

I am only 16, but I want to say something out of my view!

In germany are many people without a job.
My mother was without a job 2 years, because she was fired after an operation at the hospital!

I think it depends on the situation of the person, when I dont have a job and have a family, I would take either a job that isnt exciting, but I have Money to support my family!

This is the situation in Germany!

Now my mother has a job, with contacts to friends she get it!
But she dont take it because it is "so" exciting, No! it was her only chance to get a job before she turns 45 and is to old for many jobs!

i would choose the latter.because frankly money is important.

ill put the whole thing another way and i hope baggio forgives me for taking the topic into another dimension.

    you've got two choices.

1.having a profession that might not win you respect from all corners..the chances of success are limited though.but this is something that you've always wanted to do as a child.

2.having a regular 9 to 5 white collar job..the chances of success are abundant.but this is something that you got dragged into by external pressures.

    which one would you choose?
i asked this queston because i want to adapt music as a career, and i know that the chances of success are very limited.plus its not the most respectful profession around, atleast in our part of the world.its pretty much a big risk : either you succeed or you fail.but its what i wanted to do from a very young age,so im motivated enough.

Yeah spot on really. Depends entirely on your situation with things like that. If you're loaded you can afford to get a job purely on the basis of job satisfaction; otherwise you sometimes have to swallow your pride andtake a job with higher financial "reward"

Menace I didn't get a word of that, far too complicated for my feeble brain :D

Everyone is looking out for themselves these days sadly, friends come and go, your born alone and you'll die alone, Money speaks louder, if you have Money or a great job you can have valuable friends, not stuck with worthless ones, the worthless i find more fun though :D thats the sad truth about the world :D
