A couple of parts mightn't go down too well here (a reference to the Man Utd - Juve semi in 99 and a slight dig at Vieira), but it's fairly good otherwise.

Wouldnt exactly call it a "dig" at vieira

Dont really see the issue with the juve reference either... It was true...

The only time i have ever been at the delle alpi and witnessed a standing ovation for a visiting player...

I'd agree, but some people are oversensitive to things like that.

ROY KEANE is ready to fly to Italy this weekend to open secret talks with Italian title-chasers Fiorentina.

The former Manchester United skipper has been made an offer from Serie A's surprise side, who want him to lead their amazing bid for glory - and a return to Europe.

Keane's camp have been approached with a genuine move by Fiorentina after rival Italian outfits AC Milan and Juventus considered the Irishman as an option.

The Florence club are riding high after a remarkable return to the top flight from the brink of bankruptcy, and they see Keane as an economically viable capture for the next transfer window.

Keane is likely to take his family on the trip to check out the area, but he is also serious about the idea after a week of fielding other offers at home and abroad.

Celtic were the original favourites, but they have not come forward with a concrete bid, and seem to be split on the idea. Premiership sides have queued up for Keane, but many are unwilling to match his terms, and a handful of them simply do not appeal.

However, Fiorentina is attractive and the pay there would be around £50,000 a week, which may be as good as it gets for the one-time United idol.

Keane wants to get fixed up fast, and the final decision will be taken once he makes up his mind about whether he fancies living in Italy.

But the signs from both sides last night were that Fiorentina are now his likeliest destination in an unexpected end to the saga.

I could actually see Keane having a better time in Serie A in his older age because the pace of play is a bit slower, thus giving him a little more time on the ball. His signing would certainly help Prandelli's midfield as Keane is superior to both Donadel and Brocchi.
