He definitely needs to keep it simple when in possession, though at times he can surprise with some decent vision and calmness. Defensively though, he's a monster. What a performance.

He is probably among the three best defenders in the world. The reason why some of you doubt him is because Bonucci has raised the bar for what is required of CB's. Chiellini is a classic CB, he is supposed to suck at passing and building-up play but supposed to be a FUCKING ROCK at the back as he is. Lets not take ANYTHING away from Chiellini, he is forced into doing something that he doesnt know and should never learn how to do, and that is passing and getting involved in building up the game. He is a BEAST and the best is yet to come from him cause he hasnt crossed the 29-year-old limit where the legendary mode turns on.

I recall 2 occasions where Cech took 2 spot kicks, and Chiellini was surrendered by 2 Chelsea players, and he literally managed to get the ball with his chest while they tried to head it away from him. I was like. :wth:.

Giorgio Chiellini e' uscito a due minuti dalla fine claudicante. Da valutare quindi, le sue condizioni in vista della sfida di Milano. Eventualmente pronto Lucio.
They have to see, not sure what the injury is or may be

Almost gave me a heart attack when he went up and lost the ball which resulted in a counter attack when Hazard almost scored.

Other than that he was an absolute monster. :delpiero:
