Chiellini and Amauri recover
There is good news for Juventus as Giorgio Chiellini and Amauri could both be available for the trip to Brescia this week.

The pair trained earlier today after they missed the 3-1 defeat of Cesena at the weekend.

Chiellini has been sidelined with a muscle problem since he pulled up in the warm-up ahead of the 2-1 win at Milan. Amauri missed Sunday’s match with the flu.

Should there be no further problems over the next few days then the duo will be available for the Rigamonti game on Wednesday.

Chiellini is all set to replace young Dane Frederik Sorensen, just 18, who played alongside Leonardo Bonucci in defence yesterday.

Former Arsenal full-back Armand Traore also trained with the squad today and could be named in Gigi Del Neri’s squad.

Felipe Melo is likely to miss the game though after he limped out of the Cesena tie less than 15 minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Although tests have ruled out any muscle tear for the Brazilian, he could be rested ahead of the weekend’s home game against Roma.

Chiellini rues missed opportunity

Giorgio Chiellini is bitter after Juventus failed to beat Brescia last night and subsequently lost ground in the title race.

The Bianconeri did manage to take the lead through Fabio Quagliarella, but a beautiful outside of the foot strike from Alessandro Diamanti allowed Brescia to equalise and draw 1-1 at the Rigamonti.

“If we want to dispute a season in and around the top of the table these [games] are fundamental,” Chiellini said.

“We are having a good season, but if we are thinking about making a jump in quality then we cannot afford to waste these chances.

“In one way or the other we should have won in Brescia just like Napoli who have found two wins in their last two away matches despite not shining while we have not gone beyond two draws.

“You can make a mistake once, but it already happened to us in Bologna.

“We shouldn't have repeated this mistake in Brescia. Instead there were too many distractions.

“We must concentrate in the same way as we did against Milan and Inter against Cesena and Brescia.”

When asked if Juventus' injury crisis played a part in their draw, Chiellini said: “The emergency has nothing to do with it.

“We are fine and have sufficient quality to win on these pitches. I think that the errors committed here will not be repeated against Roma, but a great team knows how to suffer and win even in the most difficult situations.”
