[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Giorgio Chiellini admits that he doesn't know what to expect from Juventus as so much has changed at the club over the last year.

The Italy international centre-back would like to sign a new and improved contract with the Turin giants, but his future has yet to be decided.

Speaking from Italy's training camp in Sestriere, Chiellini said: “I don't know what the team will be. If the Coach follows his habits, it will be short and aggressive.

“As for the rest, everything has changed: it's a question mark. Many people with whom we worked in recent years will not be there.

“We need to make judgements in a year's time.”

The 25-year-old then reflected on his week training with La Nazionale ahead of next month's World Cup in South Africa.

“We are working well. The other national teams have something extra in defence, but in the end it's always the team that makes the difference not the individuals.

“The defence only works well if the entire team works well. Games don't depend on two, three or four defenders playing well.

“I am convinced that we will do well at the World Cup.”

Nah he's just playing the game that his agent tells him before his new contract, though I don't expect that from Chiellini, our board made it clear that he will get a decent contract, not sure why he's whinning..

So apparently Chiellini might start for Italy as a LB, something that I mentioned during last season, and some people laughed at the idea. Apperently Lippi also doesn't know what is he talking about!

Apparently, a lot of folks here understand football much better than Lippi does and when they don't like your ideas they'll call you and Lippi 'tards' :shifty:

I know Chiellini is a better CB than LB, but he is still a very good left back, and could cross and make the runs forward. What I said, that if we couldn't get a good LB in the winter market, we can switch Chiellini to LB and a get a CB. Any how, trust me lippi does know what he is doing and he does it for a reason.
Him not taking Cassano has nothing to do with his antics on the field or playing style, he didn't take cassano, because Cassano hit and pushed Lippi's son in a bar back in the days when he was at Bari. He took the best available players except for few where personal reasons prevented him from doing so. When it comes to tactics, organizations and earning his players respect, Lippi is right there in the top 5 in the world.

@ 7+1: and that's why Lippi is a world class coach eventhough many know more than him

It would only be a good idea if we had a CB who can replace him.. which we dont. Italy has Bonuccci. But he started his career at LB so it is not an entirely new idea. to play him there. I like him at CB though.

Lippi can do whatever the fuck he wants. However, Chiellini has to start @ CB for Juventus. I just hope our retarded board/coach don't resort to Lippiesque tactics and decide to switch him to LB.

Chiellini is one of the top5 CB's in the world; he is a competent LB, but not world class in that particular position.

It will be a bad move from Lippi if he decided to play him as a LB during the World Cup. Why? Because he's the best CB Italy has and he's going to hold that defense together. I can't see him do that at LB.

That's why I think what Lippi said was just a backup plan or a temporary fix when needed.

I think your logic is flawed. Chiellini is th best CB, yes. But that does not imply team is not better of with him playing another position - under certain conditions.
