a guy at his age doing statistically well isn't something to be taken for granted. this is impressive, especially considering his age and the fact that he is a makeshift cb. he's had an excellent 2023 despite his sloppy recent displays after his comeback.

none of this matters at all. what matters he is a lolzillian that has won 5 european league titles and 2 cl titles + other trophies but is still performing and not past it like other lolzillians.

and also he is actually much hamsumer than he was 1-6 years ago too. he aged like fine wine.

None of our wingbacks are on form apart from Cambiaso who can play LB or RB. Danilo also looks shaky in the middle. We could play Danilo RB, Cambiaso LB and play Vlahovic/Chiesa/Yildiz together.
i too would like to see Vlahovic, chiesa and yildiz on the pitch but we dont have the players for a back 4. The only reason this team isnt leaking goals is the conservative back three making up for individual weaknesses

Thought he was shaky again but what a delivery for the winner.

The more this team plays the more we look more suited to 4 at the back.
The 3 at the back masks our deficiencies at CB, none of them would be comfortable in a 2 but then lays bare the deficiencies at wing back because we have none.
Danilo would be a decent RB and Cambiaso may be a useful LB. However, Bremer is unproven in a 2, Gatti’s positional weakness would be exposed, and we all know what to expect from Ruru.

Very comforting to hear. Really hope he gets back to it. He has been really sloppy since coming back but everyone goes through dips during a season. Except Bremer who grows more on me for each passing game. Amazing how much his ball distribution, decision making and technique has improved in less than a year. If he is this smart, I'm sure he will do well in a four-back line over time. Especially with Danilo as RB who will largely step in centrally to cover exposed areas when we are in possession.
