I don't understand why people are still talking about moving Zambrotta back to midfield. He's brilliant at left back, leave him there! :irritate:

Parisi, Maxwell, Jankulovski or Chiellini? Marek is the best player out of the lot imo, but I don't think he's a necessity any more. Parisi is already 26/27 and I reckon Chiellini, who is having a great season with Fiorentina mind you, wouldn't mind sitting on the bench for a while whereas the other three guys would see it as a problem. Also, Parisi will retire at about the same time as Zambrotta. Doesn't getting someone younger like Chiellini make more sense?

well yes,but we could keep zamby at left back and get janku to play in midfield at the same time.this would solve our need for a left winger and replace blasi adequately, since janku is better at attacking and has defensive capabilities, being a wingback.

the interchangeability would be very enticing imo.

Jank isnt very good defensively, you dont replace a workhorse with a modern fullback/winger. Jank would be Nedveds backup. And if Zambrotta was injured. Thats it.

i have to say, in the long term, a left flank of zambro and jank would be beneficial imo...with one providing energy and pace, the other providing a great delivery...they could always interchange, providing a quality left wing...with no need for a future replacement for neddy.

I'd love to have Zambrotta and Jankulovski on our left side, but as you said, that'll only happen if Capello drops a defensive midfielder and moves Nedved into the centre. I for one would like to see it happen, but I'm not sure that Cap would. He played with two DMs last season with Roma and I think that's what he wants to do with Juve, which is why he signed Emerson, brought back Blasi and kept Appiah and Tacchinardi.

Parisi in Valencia link
Tuesday 5 October, 2004

Messina full-back Alessandro Parisi says he knows nothing of a Valencia bid for his services.

The left-back is one of the most wanted players in Italy right now and reports suggest the Spaniards have made a £5.4m offer for his January signature.

"I don’t know anything about these stories," said the 27-year-old. "And until I receive a concrete offer, I’m not interested.

"I just want to enjoy this magical moment which Messina are in and continue to score goals for my club."

Valencia see him as an ideal player to replace the ageing Amedeo Carboni, even if they also signed young left-back Emiliano Moretti from Parma in August.

Parisi caught the eye of many teams during the summer after he netted an amazing 14 goals in Messina’s promotion campaign.

Juventus, Palermo, Milan, Lazio, Inter and even Manchester United were all linked with the Sicilian.

Parisi has started the new term in fine fashion and even netted a beauty at the weekend in the 4-1 win over Siena.

That led to suggestions that he could be handed international recognition after being watched by Azzurri scout Gianni Bui. However, the call didn’t arrive this time.

"It would have been great to have been picked but I’m very calm about the future," he added.

"I just prefer to think about the goal I scored and our incredible second place in the Italian championship right now."

I don't think it would be a good move if Capello makes this switch to only one defensive midfielder. If you take a look at our goals against so far this term, its obvious we are solid defensively. Now contrary to popular belief, thats not just because of the signing of Cannavaro and Thuram's switch to the center. The main reason for that great record is because we now have an effective midfield, which is organized and can hold possession of the ball. Capello should maintain the status quo, and not change the lineup for attacking's sake. I'd rather have a defensively-sound team like Porto than an excessively attacking one like Monaco.

Parisi is not the player we need. Even though he is a very good left back. And have stunning free-kicks. Zambro is better and Zebina is great at the right too, but if Moggi wanna waste money, fine by me :)

Wow i really like Parisi, I think he's one of the best LD:s right now.
But I wouldn't change a thing in our backline. IMO its currently the best in the world.

There are so many good players that I'd love to have at Juve such as Jankulovski, Mascherano, Marchionni, Bojinov and Parisi, but they aren't needed. You've got to spend with caution in today's football world, and buying players just because they are talented (like Cassano) doesn't make sense.

Look, we are looking for a good LD sub while we had two of the best young left backs .... If we kept either Morreti or Cheillini we would have been not thinking of Parisi today....

On the other hand, Parisi is not bad. If he joins Juve he will give the left side a new good option.

since we have half of chiellini,i say we wait till the end of the season and then get the one who plays best out of the trio of parisi, jankulovski and chiellini.in the case of the former two we could even add chiellini's half to the package and make it that much more enticing, and that would solve the problem of having too many players in that position.

it wouldn't be changing the system much if we play jankulovski or parisi on the left side of midfield.first of all,the two of them possess defensive ability, being defenders-hence solving your concern over reverting to just one DM.secondly, the two of them are more accustomed to the left than any of blasi, tacch or appiah and have proved potent in attack as well(particularly jankulovski.)thirdly, zambrotta himself is an attacking defender and it'd do him good to have someone to both interchange passes with and to cover his back.

convinced yet?;)
