Roma have moved to reject reports linking Antonio Cassano with a possible move to Juventus .

Reports in Italy had claimed that Juventus were planning a summer move for Cassano as they look to bolster their squad for next season.

However, Roma have moved to quash the rumours and insist they want to keep the Italian international .

"Cassano is really important for us," said Roma official Rossella Sensi.

"I want to thank him publicly because he has played despite an injury last Sunday in Bergamo.

"I say it must be respected his and our will. Let us be in peace ."

if this is true, what's the point to loan Zalayeta out FFS  he did more than his job,if they didn't like him, then do him a favour and sell

i think we will buy a striker and a keeper despite what they say. Chimenti i believe is leaving so we do need a keeper and i still think we will get Cassano or Gilardino.

If Tudor and Kovac are similar then we will probably sell Tudor for some cash because Kovac is free and not injury prone.

i dont wanna get rid of zalayeta. he is the perfect guy to have on the bench
Me too, I'd prefer getting rid of Mutu rather than loaning Zalayeta, I just like the guy and as you said, he's the perfect guy on the bench.

    So:
    - We don't need any new strikers
    - We won't sell Trezeguet
    - We won't sell Mutu
    - We won't need Zalayeta nor Nonda

Okay so that leaves us with:
    Ibrahimovic
    Mutu
    Trezeguet
    Del Piero

With Del Piero as a probable fourth striker considering Capello's love to tall forwards. We all know how these two feel about each other and I think we can rule out anything but Del Piero being sold this summer.

    So:
    Ibrahimovic
    Mutu
    Trezeguet

... Which doesn't quite make since

 No Ljungberg is as far from a playmaker you can possibly get. But he's a dream for every playmaker to have by their side.

He would absolutely not suit Juventus at this moment.

Ljungberg is not good enough for Juve and definitly not what Juve need.

I agree with Pecker if we had a good playmaker he would be a decent signing. Milan have been linked with him too.

Though I do think Ljungberg is one of the most underrated players out there. People judge him by he's Zalayeta-like technic, but that's hardly the reason why he's been a starter for 6 seasons in Arsenal.

He's got stamina to run 90 minutes straight, and is extremly fast. Most people only got one of these qualities or just avarage at both. Over the years he's come to understand the game really well and he use all the area's of the game.

(I got to stop doing this);)

    JUVE DISMISS CASSANO CLAIMS

Juventus have denied they are interested in signing Roma star Antonio Cassano and shrugged off speculation linking Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluca Zambrotta with moves away from the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Reports had suggested that Cassano was a potential replacement for Premiership-bound Del Piero, while Zambrotta has attracted attention from Chelsea and Real Madrid.

But Juventus chief officer Antonio Giraudo dismissed the claims and stressed the wealth of striking talent already at the club.

Giraudo said: "Del Piero and and Zambrotta are two big champions and they will stay at Juve. As for Cassano, we have reaffirmed many times he is an interesting player who is able to make the difference .

But we have five international forwards and I think it is a line absolutely covered. Cassano for the moment isn't in Juve's plans ."

General Director Luciano Moggi echoed the sentiment, adding: "Cassano is a big player but we have really good players in attack and we will not change there. There will be a few changes : for the moment we have signed Giuliano Giannichedda and Robert Kovac."

    Juve to take Chiellini back

The defender was signed by Juventus from Livorno last summer, but went straight to Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal.

Chielllni enjoyed an impressive season with The Viola and even earned a call-up to the Italy squad.

Juve are now keen to have him in Turin and general manager Luciano Moggi insists they will have no problem in bringing him back .

"We will undoubtedly buy up the other 50 percent of Chiellini's contract," said Moggi .

"Fiorentina already know the situation and there will be no problem ."

Moggi also moved to play down reports that Juve were in talks to sign Lecce's Marco Cassetti - insisting they do not need the winger.

"Cassetti is a very interesting young player and had a great campaign, but we don't need him ," added Moggi.
