Andy is right. The board and the coach wanted Canna to stay but he wanted to continue playing on the highest level. Canna said that it was because of his age and that he would have stayed if he had been younger but this was his last chance to play at the highest level. But we got a good price for him I actually think it was more like 10 mil euros, and he always speaks good about Juve. Fair enough if some people dont want him back, but I think he atleast derserves not to be trashed and spoken of with respect for what he did for us. We got him for "free", he won 2 scudetti, and we made money on his transfer. I still love the guy thats for sure one of the best Juve defenders ever imo. Forza Canna

If you need to choose from 10 people who need to leave, who would you choose? If I'm right they want Ibra to stay but he want's to go. If Ibra would stay they would probably sell Trez. If someone at that time will give them 10 mio EUR for Nedved, they will probably sell him too.
They were in the situation when they need to save the club and they need to come back to seria A in one year. They shouldn't loose Gigi, because he is the best and they shouldn't loose DP, because he is the symbol of the club. They need to choose between the rest.
So bring canna back and also get Milito or Barzagli and we will have the best defence.

Ibra was young and talented but he is a mercenary, he said he wants out from the beginning, i respect that...

Vieira and Emerson are both mercenaries at the peak of their carriers,
noone expected them to stay, i respect that, we have cashed in well for them,
we couldnt waste their carrier in B' and we did have alternative solutions, good enough for b', they werent Italian and they had the highest wages, it was a logicall move

Zambrotta was young and talented, he was the backbone of our team, he could help us the years to come, but he was tented to go to Milan even before the scandal, we couldnt allow that, Milan had the perfect opportunity to sign him but we assured that wont happen, besides we had decent back up solutions, Balza and Chiellini proved more than enough we received good money from Barca

Thuram:
The Barcelona management declared that Juve would only sell Zambrotta if they took Thuram with him.
He was old and pissed of the situation, he couldnt be any useful, at his age and glories it was almost impossible to motivate such a champion, even in Barca,
he couldnt survive the serie b adventure and his age wouldnt allow a better fee

Camo was a work horse thats why we kept him, Nedved too, serie b is very physical and we needed that extra power

DP was is and will be a Juventino whatever the case...

Trezequet was the tool we needed to guarantee us goals and wins in every single game in serie b, i case we had to face a 10 serie b players defense, playing serie b's catenaccio, it was vital to keep a world class finisher at a time our penalty was -30 points, Trezequet is our best finisher, it was a wise choice to keep then

And finally Buffon and Canna were the Italians who would ensure our offensive efforts wouldnt be futile conceding ridiculous Boumsong-Chimenti like goals.
Canna promised to the fans that he understands the situation, he owe's his carrier resurrection to Juve and he will help us overcome the most difficult situation in our history being a part of our rear guard, noone forced him to do that, noone asked him to do that,he is Italian ffs, he knows what JUVENTUS means. He let everyone feel confident that the best defender in the goal will help Juve to come back in serie A, even the impossible task of promotion in seria A with the massive 30- points, didnt seem that impossible when such a player is here and makes such a declaration/promise. Everybody, both managers and the fans were emotional of this decision and support, Canna's popularity reached maximum, so as his performance.
But the traitor revealed his true nature at the first offer,
he was the one that decided not to stay, he preferred Real's glory and money,
insteed of Juve fans heart and most important keeping his word.
He has no honor, i respect more every other mercenary,
i even respect a prostitute that sells her body for money,
than a man without honor like Canna...
His decision to leave didnt brake only Juve fans heart, he was one of the first to go, many players followed him, many players asked from the management to leave and indirectly forced their way out. We were forced to sell in a hurry,
we sold most of them at their half real price.
Cannavaro at the moment was considered the best defender in the world,
he was at his best shape ever and guaranteed 2 years atleast of the high class defending in the world.
Real offered us, 15 mil for Emerson, we sold both of them for 20mil,
Canna's price was 5-8 mil at most.
we sold Cannavaro to real for an undisclosed fee, probably around 8 million Euros, which is rather pathetic for the best stopper in the world.
Tell me; can we buy today the best defender in the world for such a price????
Tell me: would we in a need to buy players like Milito and Barzagli for 20+mil if Canna was still here???
Hell no!!! We had a 30+mil plus loses because of his malefic behavior and of course a great performance drop and dont forget the prestige loss too.
We may attract new players, coaches and funs much more easily with such champions on board, but its all much harder without them.
We lost all this for 5-8 mil, IMO this was the gravest loss and the less expected one (just because i valued his word at that time)
Our managers know that, they know about all these damages,
i m confident that they are not that stupid, they are "ubber noobs" and naive as hell, but not thaaat stupid, they will not allow that,
besides Juventus has never bought back a player we sold, Never!!
Canna's current form wont help, he got the money and the title, there is absolutely no motive in earth to make him come back no, he doesnt give a d@@m about Juve, he was only careful on his comments only because he was scared of the real Juve fans reactions in Italy, he knows that they wont forget him for this,
he knows what Juventus means for the Italian tifosi, he knows that you cant play them like that and get away with it, even if u r a "Napolitenean" in Napoli, i hope he gets what he deserves...

Is it so hard for people to understand that it was Juventus who most probably wanted him to leave???
People like you are either blind or pretend to be. One of them.

FFS, did you even read Cannavaro's statement when he signed with Real Madrid?

Saying the reasons why he left....did you even bother to check the news at that time? I suggest you read that before asking such a question.

I almost wonder if it would be better business sense to get Cannavaro and Barzagli over just Milito. I can't see Barza costing more than 12m euro (much less if Miccoli is involved), and Canna probably less than 10m euro as well.

Milito is becoming too pricey for a guy playing on an average team.

Just one thing:

Cannavaro NEVER said that he would also stay in serie C.
I still remember his press conference with the Azzurri (I watched it). He said that he didn't believe Juve was guilty and neither that it was all Moggi's fault...

And then he said: I have a contract with Juve. I might stay - I don't really think it would be a problem. WE'LL SEE...

And it was pretty clear that he didn't believe that Juve would really be forced down to Seie C or B.

And 15 minutes later all the internet sites in Italy had the news "Cannavaro: I will stay with Juve even in Serie C" though he never said that.
