Category: General

Mauro German Camoranesi is reportedly set for a summer exit after Juventus fined him almost £30,000 for his dismissal against Arsenal on Tuesday.

The Argentine infuriated club officials during the 2-0 Champions League defeat for firstly being sent-off and then ironically applauding the Highbury crowd.

Clearly disgusted by those actions which have damaged the Juventus brand, the Old Lady will now force the Italian international to dig deep into his pockets.

Camoranesi has had a difficult campaign at the Stadio Delle Alpi and Tuesday’s incident was just the latest demonstration that he can lose his cool in the heat of a game.

It now seems almost certain that the former Verona player will be sold at the end of the current campaign.

Boss Fabio Capello has concerns over his temperament and has actually substituted him twice this season just minutes after throwing him on as a substitute.

Juventus have already made an initial step to replace him by securing the services of winger Marco Marchionni once his Parma deal expires in the summer.

It is also no secret that the Stadio Delle Alpi outfit are looking to bring in another wide midfielder for the new campaign.

Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been constantly linked recently, while they could renew their interest in Roma’s Amantino Mancini after having a bid rejected last August.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Zebina – another player likely to be sold – has also been fined by Juventus for his red card against Arsenal, even if his was nowhere near the £30,000 mark.

Source: Football Italia

Look Camo for Mancini is good. But they are the same (to me). I mean yes, Mancini is better very good this year but for how long?? Camo is very good for as long as he is in Juve. As for Zebina, no comment...

Interesting stuff. Why is his temperment suspect now? Is Capello overreacting - were those substitutions justified or damn near bullying? Has Camo blown his lid over the fine? ...

How much would he cost someone these days?

I don't think camoranesi cares. He's had enough of this Capello shit. I'm with him! Capello should have been fined 5million£ for his champions league matches.

I am so embaresd after this Arsenal display. All my english fan friends watched it and talks shit about my club!

Discipline is a good thing - particularly given the breakdown and collapse we witnessed this week. But picking Camo out like that?

Capello is starting to sound like a problem parent who is losing control of his kids.

And while I don't want to see Lippi back at our club (he did his time -- twice), at least he was a role model for fessing up and taking the blame when he feels the team underperformed.

get rid of them as soon as you can, Camoranesi was one of my favourite players, but what he has done is not acceptable at all, Zebina's reaction was not as ugly as Camo's but he wanted to get that red card, he hit the players in the last 10 minutes like 3 times, and finally he got what he wanted..

this is on fair

why we fine camo

do you remember Zlatan having red card against roma and causing juve to loose the cup

do you remember ibra getting red card against byren in the home game for stupid foul

do you remember ibra fighting with zebina in training

why we dont fine ibra and only fine camo and drive him out of the team

camo is an important player and he is known to make jokes when he leaves the match ( remeber the lighter against fiorentina)

i like ibra very much and before he lost his form he was one of the top players in my view but i hate the way capello uses his double standards

he can be very patient when it comes to the indiscipline of ibra, cassano, panucci, totti (remember the four fingers Juve0-4roma)

on the other hand he cant tolerate any thing form camo del piero

i like ibra and capello but i'm sad for camoranesi

what you think

please discuss

so who do you want? Aimo Diana? :p

Joaquin is overated from what I hear. Mancini is the only other option but do Roma want to sell him? He costs a shit load now. 1. Mancini 2. CR7 3. Joaquin

File this one under "dumb ass English-language sports reporters who don't know even the basics about Italian football..."

From Eurosport, which I would normally respect:

Serie A round-up: Camoranesi out

Eurosport - 30/3/2006, BH

Mauro German Camoranesi would appear on his way out of the San Siro after his sending off against Arsenal on Tuesday saw him cop a 45,000 euro fine. Also, Roma are being bombarded with offers for on-loan striker Mido and Schalke agree terms with Milan for the services of Christian Poulsen.

CAMORANESI OUT OF FAVOUR

Juventus' Italian right-winger Camoranesi seems to be in the doghouse in Turin after his latest actions, against Arsenal in the Champions League, saw him ordered off for an early bath at Highbury on Tuesday, and also sarcastically applaud the home fans on his way from the pitch.
