Juventus’ appeal against the revocation of the 2006 Scudetto has been thrown out by the Supreme Court of Cassation, which decided it was a sporting issue.

The Bianconeri were stripped of both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 titles as part of the Calciopoli scandal, which also saw the club relegated to Serie B.

The second of those was controversially awarded to Inter, who in 2011 were accused by prosecutor Stefano Palazzi of similar offences to the ones which saw Juve demoted.

However, as the statute of limitations had expired no action could be taken.

Juventus asked for the 2006 Scudetto to be stripped from Inter as a result, but the FIGC declined to rule on it as too much time had passed.

The Bianconeri then appealed to the Consiglio di Stato, but it was decided that court had no jurisdiction over sporting bodies.

A further appeal to the Court of Cassation followed, but that appeal was thrown out today.

The court confirmed that the dispute falls under the remit of the sporting justice system, and for an outside court to rule on the issue would undermine “the principle of autonomy of the national sports system”.

The Supreme Court of Cassation doesn’t re-examine the facts of a case, it can only interpret the relevant law, and in this case it upheld the earlier verdict that the civil courts have no jurisdiction over sporting disputes.

Given that the court is the highest court of appeal, it would appear there are no more avenues for Juventus to go down.

They got away with it. Goddamnit!
Their punishment will be constant and eternal Juve hegemony.

Moratti: 'Juve must accept verdict'
By Football Italia staff

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti said “Juventus fans have to accept” the final verdict that the 2005-06 Scudetto belongs to the Nerazzurri.

Both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 Serie A titles were stripped from Juve as part of the Calciopoli scandal in the summer of 2006.

While the 2004-05 edition went down as ‘unassigned’, the 2005-06 Scudetto was handed over to Inter, who finished third that season behind Milan (also penalised in the Calciopoli trial).

Juve have been waging a legal battle for years to have the 2005-06 title either given back to them or also marked down as neutral rather than have it included on the shelf of their rivals, but lost the final appeal today.

“It’s all normal, a consequence of what happened,” Moratti told news agency Ansa.

“In any case, that’s good, it has always been a guaranteed Scudetto. Now the Juventus fans have to accept it too.

“I was sure that would’ve been the case anyway. I’ve always been friends with (Juventus President Andrea) Agnelli, let’s just say that nowadays that affection is a little more public than it was…”

Well, getting scudetto after scudetto will have to suffice being the punishment for them.

We have to turn to the page on this. But learn from it to never happen again.

I still get really angry everytime I think about it I cant get over it even if we win the next 100 scudettos. The shit we had to go through in the years following this farce will never be forgotten but it has made me a bigger fan and does make the winning that small bit sweeter.

Agnelli: 'Inter and Napoli must accept verdict'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli said “Inter and Napoli fans have to accept” the final verdict that the last seven Scudetti belong to the Bianconeri.

Both the 2016-17 and 2017-18- Serie A winter championships were stripped from Inter and Napoli as Juve ruthlessly crushed the rest of Italy.

While the 2016-17 winter championship was won by Juve, Inter say they lay claim to the honesty Scudetto from that season. The 2017-18 winter Scudetto was handed over to Napoli, but they finished second that season after losing the title race in a hotel room in Florence.

Inter and Napoli have been waging a moral battle for years to have the two titles either given back to them or also marked down as neutral rather than have it included on the shelf of their rivals, but lost the final appeal today.

“It’s all normal, a consequence of what happened,” Agnelli told news agency Ansa.

“In any case, that’s good, they’ve always been guaranteed Scudetti. Now the Inter and Napoli fans have to accept it too.

“I was sure that would’ve been the case anyway. I’ve always been friends with (Ex Inter President Massimo) Moratti, let’s just say that nowadays that affection is a little more public than it was…”

:agree: At this point who even cares about those two Scudetti. As frustrating as the years in mediocrity were, they are past and we looking to win 10 on the run. Losers like Inter hang on to the past cause they have nothing better going forward.

We are a decade ahead of anything else in Italy. They can keep that paper scudetto for all i care so long as we keep moving forward. Clinging to that title just makes them even more pathetic.

Juventus have officially lodged yet another appeal to have the 2005-06 Serie A title removed from Inter.

In the Calciopoli scandal of 2006, the Bianconeri had two Scudetti revoked – the 2004-05 edition went unassigned, while the 2005-06 title was handed to third-place Inter.

That is because Milan, who had finished second, were also docked points in the trial, along with Lazio, Fiorentina, Reggina and Arezzo.

Juventus have had several different appeals to have the titles returned, or at least the later trophy taken away from their rivals Inter.

After the most recent legal action was rejected, the club today formally lodged another appeal with the Collegio di Garanzia dello Sport tribunal.

Most of the appeals have dealt not with the issue itself, but on who gets to decide.
