Police 'did hear Inter Calciopoli calls'

Luciano Moggi’s lawyers claim police did originally mark Inter’s wiretaps for further investigation, but they were ignored in the Calciopoli trial.
These phone calls featuring then-President Giacinto Facchetti were deemed to violate Article 6, the clause regarding Sporting Fraud, by the FIGC Disciplinary Commission this month, but Inter could not be punished due to the statute of limitations.

Moggi’s lawyers now claim they have examined the original files and discovered police did mark the Inter wiretaps with the same 'triple red’ mark as the Juventus calls back in 2006.

“It’s a shocking discovery,” lawyer Maurilio Prioreschi told Tuttosport. “The marks used to differentiate the files are very clear. However, someone told the police to provide transcripts of those calls and opted to leave out the Inter ones, so these never reached the public prosecutor.

“The truth is that the real Calciopoli inquiry is being performed by Moggi’s legal team and it will be a complete investigation. The CD-ROMs we requested are providing some remarkable answers.

“It is clear there was a filter in information that goes from the bottom to the very top of the investigation. Those wiretapped calls did not disappear. They were listened to and evaluated.

“Someone at a superior level did not request certain 'valuable’ calls be transcribed. Had they been transcribed, they would’ve reached the prosecutor in time for the sporting trial that brought down Juve, hurt Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio.

“It would’ve made a huge difference, because that trial spoke about an exclusive association of clubs acting in a certain way. These calls prove that was not the case.

“When the civil Calciopoli trial resumes on September 27, I will request a new police investigation. We need someone to explain what happened and if a crime was committed.”

Could Moratti be loosing his infulence in Calcio?

Or is Gazzetta just trying to sell papers? :D

Likely both and I’ll add another one. Gazzetta and a few other papers had more than a little say in the 2006 outcome and I think that now they are trying to get in the good books of certain people/teams who may now seek financial restitution for the slanderous way they portrayed the accused.

That being said guys. Stop talking about going to European courts. We are years from that. Before that happens all domestic courts have to be used and we are not even close.

I honestly think this will just keep building momentum until the FIGC / Inter / Moratti / Roma can't stop the public opinion forcing the whole farsical investigation to be re-opened... maybe political powers will wade in or even better still UEFA dissolve the current FIGC stalwarts and sort out all the shit with 1 fell swoop! Remember Platini is the man in power...

I also hope that Agnelli is in alliance with Moggi and they are manouvering in the shadows to biuld up to the Naples trial sentence and beyond...

In any other western European country these documents released today would be enough for a complete re-trial to be forced and Inter to be relegated to Serie C... but we are talking about Italy...

Looks like the mainstream have even picked up on the current developments brought forward by Tuttosport... if they didn't no-one else would though...

But it is just another story for them, not the 'big exclusive' or 'big bomb' story that it should be considered as! Fucking media are doing the minimum to pass on the facts I am sure down to the fact they have been ignoring the truth for so many years and don't want to be seen as turning on their heels now...

It was in today's printed Gazzetta but the article hasn't yet appeared online... damage limitation maybe?

Has anyone else seen any other articles?
Strange that Goal havent snapped it up yet. I mean even Football Italia has reported about it. Strange...

    So now we have:

    La Repubblica
    TuttoSport
    Football Italia

What about Gazzetta? Corriere? Il Giornale?

Like I said they don't wanna make too big a deal about it... I can only imagine if it happened here in England?

It would front & back of virtually every tabloid! I just find it so hard to understand this anti-Juve sentiment (or is it just pro-Moratti money?)

Moggi's lawyers intend on proposing the opening of a new and separate investigation at the next trial date regarding Auricchio and the "missing" calls. Looks like Moggi wants to press charges and from the sounds of things the Della Valle boys and Agnelli are intent on doing the same.

Auricchio could be the key. If they put the fire under his ass in court he could very well start giving up names regarding who asked him to do what. I have a hard time believing he hid all this shit on his own accord.

In sporting terms this would mean nothing. The FIGC wouldn’t have anything to do with a civil trial but in terms of financial ramifications, Auricchio spilling the beans could lead to liability suits against those responsible.
