Napoli case started yesterday. All parties(clubs, FIGC...) who asked for $$$ because they felt damaged by Calciopoli have had their request denied because no direct and immediate damage as been done against them.

Mission accomplished, there is point no point to keep going with that anymore.
The press could intimidate the authorities enough to present a "clear" verdict,

It is still possible that the court feels that damage was done by Moggi, but that his actions were not directly enough connected to the other parties loss for damages to be payable.

I haven't read an article in English about Juve being practically cleared of any charges in this new case. You have to dig deep to find one in Italian. Found one in French.

Only individuals will be trialled.

This is good news for those who want Juve to look "cleaner" to other people and get those scudetti back with compensation.

This has been extracted from the lectures of a lawyer by the name of Paco D’Onorfio who is a professor of Sports Justice at the University of Bologna. He has authored texts regarding Sports Justice including encyclopedia contributions. He has been representing Luciano Moggi in court however has not represented Juventus regarding Calciopoli related matters.

“In light of the recent statements made by judges (federal as opposed to sporting judges who do not pertain to the judiciary system) referring to the immense and indisputable lack of proof in the moment that “Calciopoli” was celebrated in front of the FIGC, deciding to exclude Juventus from the proceeding, relieving the team of eventual punitive responsibilities. The decision is based on the announcement of the Neapolitan based prosecutors that have stated that the club did not carry any responsibility and therefore should be removed from the proceeding.

The revoked titles should therefore be reassigned, reversing the original verdict through the same sports justice tribunal which was founded on erroneous presumptions of facts. The less than convincing manner in which the sporting trial was conducted in terms of constitutional rights and the right to proper defense, not to mention the maximum sanctions possible being applied to Juventus on the grounds of alleged benefits from referee corruption are grounds are unjust, unless of course a sporting judge considers himself above a federal tribunal.

Based on the first declaration of the Neapolitan proceedings, Juventus can legitimately request the revision of the sporting tribunal’s verdict, requesting the reassigning of the two illegitimately revoked titles. “

Hmmm...interesting. I'd really like Juventus to get their Scudetti back and financial compensation, but at the same time I'd like everything to turn to Inter's higher-ups to demonstrate that they've played a role in this scandal. I want to see that name tarnished forever, much like Juventus' brand has become. That would be the ultimate satisfaction, especially for me living in North America where the papers and news had brief blurbs like, "Juventus Caught In Match-Fixing Scandal", transcripts of Moggi's phone conversation with the ref coordinator after the Ajax-Juve match, and editorials on how disappointed these "soccer journalists" were at Juventus' supposed methods. Now everyone thinks Juventus are a bunch of cheats, barring Mr. Solinas of course.

But i have to say that the fact that Inter didn't decline, or atleast haven't to this day let go of that title they recieved in court, proves how low-class that team really is. And im not just saying that becouse i hate'em. They didn't even challenge for the title in the first place and somehow it is theirs. I could never imagine juve taking titles in such a manner. It must've been becouse they were so desperately in need of a title having gone two decades without winning one. I'm just glad the truth is coming out, but im not glad it isnt getting as much attention as all the bad news about us in 2006. I just want our name clean again, and as for Inter, i don't give a flying rats ass. They can keep our trophy for as long as they want, just as long as the truth comes out.
