Referees Better In Europe - Totti
Roma captain Francesco Totti made some more provocative statements aimed at Inter regarding the different refereeing standards in Europe and the Italian league.
Francesco Totti seems more charged up than ever. It might be because of Roma's excellent form, his own good condition, or Inter's difficult moment, which can only give the Giallorossi a morale boost ahead of the final stretch of the Serie A season.
The Roma captain commented on the Nerazzurri's elimination from the Champions League, and on their coach Roberto Mancini's apparent decision (which has been allegedly already been retracted) to resign at the end of the season.
"I thought he would make this decision later, but he decided to speak out," Totti said. "He should be respected. Inter's elimination? Sincerely we have only read the newspapers, those are Inter's problems."
The number 10 commented on the behaviour of referees in international matches: "International referees are different with Inter? Yes, for them Inter and Liverpool are two teams like any other. These referees whistle without any conditioning.
"We only think about doing well. We want to go far in the Champions League and get closer to Inter. It's too bad because certain situations have penalised us, but it's OK, we'll keep on going. We believe in it."
