gsol, notice how the difference between the third and the fourth picture is only Del Piero. The ball is there the defender's leg is still on the ball only Del Piero moved to the left over the defender's leg and DIVED!
None of your still frames show the foot on the ball...why didn't you find that one?
Regardless. From that angle you can't tell if the foot touches the ball first or if the leg touches the player first.
The point is Del Piero's legs were taken out from behind as the video indicates and for those who don't speak Italian, the commentator also agreed that the goal was offside.
Del Piero was tripped. Even if the defender touched the ball 1st, Del Piero could have still reached it but he didn´t because he was tripped. Hence the penalty is correct.
That link shows me again the same thing I posted. The defender reaches the ball FIRST, while still at the ball Del Piero moves towards the defender's legs and dives. You just proved that what I am saying is right. We were awarded and inexistent penalty.

Except that Catania's goal was not offside. Molinaro cover Spinesi all the time until the ball leaves Mascara's foot. Spinesi's arm was the only part offside and this is not enough for it to be called an offside.
Jack if you watch that video and see a dive than I can't help you. It proved me and the ref and the commentators right...not you. Contact with DPs legs from behind and a correct penalty. Change the subject now.

Anything to disagree with me huh buddy. It was offside. Knock it off. The video is there for all to see and whoever understands the comentating can confirm that they too agree it was offside.
