Courts reduced the sentences for both Moggi and Moggi Jr. in the GEA case. Criminal organization charges dropped.
For those uncertain as to what they were sentenced for I will summarize it.
They were accused of controlling the player market and found not guilty. They were instead found guilty of threatening four ex-Juventus players with “never seeing the field again at Juventus” to entice them to accept sale terms. Something I wish someone had done with half our current roster some time ago.
The players were Blasi, Amoruso Zeytulaev and Budjanskij. Funny thing is that in all four cases when they accepted the terms of sale they wound up with longer and more lucrative contracts which somewhat contradicts the notion that they left in fear of never playing again but this part of the GEA trial is pretty trivial as it has nothing to do with match fixing or Calciopoli. The part that mattered to us was the player market control which the Moggis won a long time ago.
The Moggis are now going to appeal to yet another court.
