As fans, we don't often get to witness actual Match-Fixing. Normally, we hear about after the fact, either by news acoount or by criminal court proceedings. However, I can think of one instance where we actually witnessed an attempt at match-fixing. On May 5, 2002, when Inter were seeing their Scudetto dreams evaporate at the hands of a Lazio thrashing, Marco Materazzi was in tears, pleading with the Laziale to lay down and allow Inter to win. His words were clear to all the lip-readers employed by the media outlets ----"I was on the Perugia team tha beat Juventus to give you the Scudetto two years ago."

Inter's long history of cheating was already well documented from the time of Angelo Moratti and Helenio Herrera.

I can't comment on what was happening in domestic Italian football, but that accusation could also be levelled at Juve and Milan.

Both, in the sixties and seventies, seem to have been in the habit of trying to influence refs.

True, but I was simply commenting on Inter because only Inter wants to pretend it is pure as the driven snow. They are only fooling themselves.

Yes, something which can also be pointed at pretty much every big team in history at some point.

fastweb was the greatest logo, am i not right fellas ? martin, icey, sheik ? :D
My impression of Fastweb was that of a trashy company with no particular competency or vision, which just rushed to grab a place in a new market, a market that was already well established in other countries (zomg making websites), and selling a low quality and somewhat tacky product. Then, as all companies of that kind, they soon went out of business once the investors had realized that this was going nowhere.

In massive contrast to Sony, which is a company that has built quality products for decades and created many innovations.
