I really missed this though. It had been too long. Last year something was missing and now I realize what it was. I missed Juve's trip ti Milan to take points off of Inter and then hear Inter bitch about referees. Good to be back.

I cant help but think that this is a part of the bigger picture for Inter. They're probably avoiding help from the refs for a few league games to cool things off and put the other teams under the 'we werent cheating..if we did,we wouldnt be losing games' bit.

I expect the ref help to come into play again in the next few games so they can make up for the points they've lost in the last few games.

Even if they got the referees help, there was no stopping Del Piero that night...

Obviously. But with the way they have controlled the refs this season, its kinda weird that they didnt try to win a large number of unfair penalties or crucial freekicks. Also the linesman didnt call Camo's goal offside, which only gives Inter a 'We're being screwed over by the refs too' excuse, while in all possibility, they probably didnt want any ref help for this match because of the reason i mentioned above.

They're probably keeping a low profile for a few matches, only to get back to their tricks when it matters most.

I agree with you, Salman! They're just lying low for a few weeks.

    :lol2: Mancini: Camoranesi Goal Offside.

Roberto Mancini believes Mauro Camoranesi’s opener was offside and he has had a swipe at those who believe Inter have been favoured this season. Well they have been for the past 3 seasons at least!
Juventus beat the Nerazzurri after the World Cup winner fired his side ahead and David Trezeguet grabbed a second. Replays show that there was an element of offside for Camoranesi’s goal and Mancini is not happy about it. Got to have something to moan about, doesn't he!

“The goal by Camoranesi was offside, it happens and now we can’t do nothing about it, at least they will stop saying that we are helped out in this league,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.

“The league is like this, I said it in the past that we need to fight in every game.

There is a reason behind our situation and that is you are the most referee assisted team in Italy and people are getting fed up of it - especially as it's so blatant. People are beginning to object and the refs are having to officiate impartially whenever they protest too much or too loudly. It is not that we have lost plenty of players and we always lose someone to injury every game. All teams have that problem and deal with it!

“I hope that someone returns during the week, this team has plenty of quality and I believe they can win the remaining eight games from now until the end, starting from our next one in Rome against Lazio.” What no call ups for Italy? Oh, I forgot - you're the Argentinian national B team!:yuck:

Inter will be feeling the heat as they are only four points ahead of an in form Roma side looking to knock the Nerazzurri off top spot. Turn that heat up, Roma!

Any more slip ups could see Inter’s scudetto chances being held hostage to fortune. :weee:
Salvatore Landolina, goal.com My comments in red +smillies!

Oh, what fun it is to laugh at inter!

    Luciano lingers

Disgraced former Juventus director Luciano Moggi may be banned from football until 2011, but Paul Watson suggests that he should also be gagged…

The summer of 2006 was a bruising time for Italian football as the Calciopoli scandal rocked the nation. However, painful as the process was, the aftermath of the verdicts brought the refreshing feeling that purgation had taken place. The men who had dragged the name of calcio through the mud were banished from the Empyrean and the game could move on and heal.

Or could it? Over 18 months have passed, but the spectre of main culprit Luciano Moggi still haunts Italy’s newsstands. The ex-transfer guru seems to have an opinion on every issue and amazingly people still want to hear what he has to say. Over the last few weeks, we have had to endure the pantomime villain’s claims that he would have signed Cristiano Ronaldo at Juve, grimace through his ‘expert’ analysis of the Roberto Mancini situation and wince at his deluded take on the Calciopoli scandal.

While Moggi’s inane punditry is galling enough, the true fear is that he may return to playing an active role in the game. After his initial trial, Moggi announced that he didn’t feel football had a place for him anymore and he wouldn’t be back. Yet another questionable statement from the professor of prevarication. Last week, he appealed his five-year ban and Lucky Luciano insists that he will take an active role in football once more, despite seeing his suspension upheld.

Rather than show any remorse for his wrongdoings, Moggi has chosen the solipsistic path and insists that we mere mortals don’t understand what happened at Juve. Maybe so, but we know enough to realise that calcio is a happier place without the likes of Luciano. Any return would undermine everything that has been done to restore faith in Italy’s beloved game.

Maybe he should follow up on his promise that he will enter politics. While Moggi insists that 75 per cent of Juventini would vote for him – a total of around nine million fans – I reckon I could canvas a similar number of signatures on a petition to have him banished to an uninhabited island. Then again, maybe Italian politics is the best place for Moggi, I’m sure a man of his moral fortitude would fit right in.

I think they knew the world would be watching this game and didn't want to confirm what everyone has been saying all season.

They'll get back to the usual bullshit this weekend but in the meantime I celebrated like a madman and once again my father and I are not on speaking terms after I thrashed him with two years worth of built up aggression over the phone.

    Who is Paul Watson?

Does anyone have his contact info?

I'll take care of him...I swear to Christ I love shredding into journalists who think they know their shit.

Please point me in the right direction because that is too common a name to google.

He's a writer for the British mag Football Italia. Soccer Italia is just a regurge of Football Italia so that it can be sold in Canada. Write to the one in Canada and see if this guy responds...

    Catania lose Matrix case
    Friday 28 March, 2008

The FIGC has rejected Catania’s appeal against Inter, which had claimed Marco Materazzi was illegally fielded in their encounter.

The Sicilians lodged their appeal to have the match replayed or the full points restored after the meeting on February 10.

They claimed Materazzi should not have been allowed to play, as he had pulled out of international duty that same week with an injury.

However, the FIGC confirmed today that Materazzi was released from the Azzurri after visiting the Italy medical staff and was diagnosed with acute lumbago.

Inter beat Catania 2-0 in Sicily with goals from Esteban Cambiasso and David Suazo.

Materazzi was in the starting XI and played for the entire match.
