Yea I saw that later, I just quoted him immediately as I know these dates.

The final in 1996 saw me lose a lot of money on betting, I remember that pretty well. It was Zidane's last game with the Frenchies if my memory doesn't fail me.

interesting appointment but certainly a very risky one. His tactical knowledge will certainly be tested, as thats his weakest are imo. But as he showed with the national team he certainly could compensate in other areas.

certainly a shock but overall i see more positives than negatives, as hitzfield has already laid out a good squad.

Does leading Germany at a World Cup not count as a big job?
Its a big job but a relatively simple 1. You dont need to motivate the players. Germany have a very great world cup pedigree and they had a good draw to the 1/4s. It would be very different to club competition as he would not be judged on his ability to negotiate 7 games all at home.

He would be dealing with a lot of stuff that he is possibly not used to as a manager. I think it is a risk but good luck to both sides

Except that Bayern has won the UEFA cup in 1996, the final was against Bordeaux.

They have also won the European Supercup 3 times in 1982, 1987 and 1990
Except that we're talking about the European SuperCup, not German (which they won in 1982, 87, 90)

They did win the UEFA Cup in 1996 tho, that was my bad. Still 10 to 8 :p

    Sounds tempting.

I'll propose it to the social committee to see if it can make it onto the official itinery. :burke:

I have the feeling that Bayern's management, have the intention to build a strong team, that would dominate Germany and be very competitive in Europe.
Expect top singings the years to come and if they found the right coach,
    maybe even some impressive results!
