Maybe his body can't take it anymore (as he says himself). I guess spending more time with his family is another big reason.

I think the last part is exactly it. Gonna miss him a lot. What a player and what a career.

And even if a lot of people approve of such retirement, I bet you a lot of them don't accept it in reality - especially not among this kind of career-minded people. If he doesn't feel like his body is shaped for this as a top player, I can easily see why he's choosing tobe with his family (even though it's not what he's saying).
