I know Leipzig got money from Red Bull but the team has no star players. How do they manage to be at the 2nd place?

no star players but they have very promising players, wonderkids like Keita(great player) Klostermann(Sadly seriously injured, one of the best young german defenders) young attack Selkie,Poulsen,Werner plus Bernardo, and my favourite Burke(i hope he`ll be new Bale) , and of course coach is maybe not well known but he knows his job. At this time they do not spend money on random players like middlesborough or others but theam seems to be a team

No i meant as part of the reason why they are 2nd. If he has half of Samis luck (its his brother were talking about after all) no wonder they are so high up the table, despite lacking starpower

They've gone about setting up the club in a very smart way, investing a lot in club & scouting infrastructure, hiring some very competent people (Hasenhüttl for example is an excellent coach, did some great work with Ingolsstadt too).

Plus they got the unbeatable duo of Ilsanker (Marchisio of the Bundesliga) & Sabitzer, if those two aren't star players I don't know who are.

I don't expect them to stay in this good a form for the entirety of the season, but they could very well make CL places.
