I think it's clear that if Rabiot renews - we wont see Thuram. If we would see Thuram, we would be -40M in the transfer budget and won't see Zirkzee. I do not expect them to buy two, let alone three 40M rated players. Players like Kean, Arthur and Kostic are worth peanuts anyway, and they are not high earners.

Things might change if Szcz would leave, because that would make Sandro, Szcz and Pogba's salaries gone compared to last year's summer outlook, thats over 30M gross savings in wages.

Also, we need to find a right-back.

Thuram + Locatelli is an interesting double pivot in a 4231. Locatelli was great in this role for Sassuolo
yeah, move fagioli in am and it's a different team. still not scudetto worthy but most probably more stable and certainly more dangerous going forward than the current one

Could work well

Loca Thuram

Chiesa Fagioli Yildiz

Vlahovic

I like that it can change to a 4 3 3 in certain situations as well, or be more attacking by putting someone else central.

I would be disappointed if Motta plays Fagioli in front of the defense. I mean he can and it might work but his skillset tells that we should put him as close to the box as possible.

Even though we want Chiesa to play at RW, I really don't think Chiesa himself fancies that
why? That's his natural position. I think he is more comfortable on the right.

I think fagioli is better at double pivot in 4231 or mezzalla at 433
He shouldn't be a regista without a more defensive mid beside him.
We need one pure #6. A mediano to complete the midfield.
A trio of Fagioli-Ugarte-Koop is a dream. But as much as i think Koop is perfect for us, his price tag would only limit us to cover other areas

Chiesa has barely played on the right for a year and a half even if he's still good at it.

Ever since the ACL injury, I feel like he has re-evaluated his body and how we wants to approach games.

I don't see as many bursting runs from him as we saw pre-ACL and he's the player that is taking more shots than anyone else in the team which means he prefers cutting in and shooting at goal rather than hugging the touchline and bombing in crosses into the box.

And maybe I'm making this up but his defensive contribution appears to be less than previous seasons. So I kinda see now why Allegro used him as a striker.

I'd be surprised if Motta played him as an out and out right winger.

I remember him playing at Fiorentina shooting a lot with both his left and right foot. And barely aiming just shooting as hard as possible.

Di Lorenzo Bremer Calafiori Cambiaso

Locatelli Fagioli Thuram

Chiesa Vlahovic Yildiz
Must be the Melbourne water, cuz that is the line up I have in my head for next season as well.

We don't know what the club needs financially in terms of purchases and wage reduction. If we are building a future and putting trust in younger players then we can't sell our better ones. I'd hate to see koop come in at the expense of younger talents.

Seeing rabiot renew for a stupid salary to me sounds like a backwards step for this club. Time to clear out high earners who don't merit their salaries. Rabiot, szc....etc...fuck them off....incest in younger talent and build a team that can be successful.for several years.

Agreed.

I expect that either one of Soule or Huijsen will be sacrificed.

So according to reports this is the team for next season:
M.D.G; Cambiasso Calafiori Bremer Di Lorenzo; D.L Rabiot; Yildiz Koop Chiesa; Vlahovic 4-2-3-1
Rabiot might leave and then Locatelli would replace him.

If we sell Chiesa it does raise a question on which wingers are we going to play exactly.

- - - Updated - - -

Zirkzee will 99% go to Milan. Don’t add him in the team for next season. We don’t have the money for him
Good player but he is definitely not a one of a kind.

Based on current rumors:

-----------------------------------------Di Gregorio------------------------------------------

Di Lorenzo/Danilo---------Bremer-----------Califiori------------Cambiaso

--------------------------------------Luiz/Fagioli------------Rabiot-----------------------

----Chiesa?------------------------Koopmeiners---------------------Yildiz----------

--------------------------------------------Vlahovic---------------------------------------------

Koopmeiners, Luiz are the key acquisitions. Chiesa may stay or go, if he goes, will we keep Soule? If not, will be sell both and get a world class winger?
